On 12 April, 2024, Mr. Olivier Brochet – Ambassador of the Republic of France to Vietnam and his delegation visited and worked with University of Science and Technology (DUT) – The University of Danang (UD). Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Hieu – Rector of DUT-UD and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Lam – Chairman of University Council of DUT-UD, chaired the meeting with the Ambassador.

Welcoming the French Ambassador and the French Embassy delegation on their visit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Hieu introduced the general and significant features of DUT-UD, including the imprints in training high-quality human resources of which the Vietnam – France High-quality Engineer Program (PFIEV) is a vivid and convincing proof.

According to Mr. Olivier Brochet, the Embassy highly appreciates the training and scientific research of DUT-UD in recent time, which have been recognized by prestigious accreditation organizations such as HCERES, CTI. This shows the capacity, prestige and training tradition of DUT-UD.

The French Ambassador hoped to promote more student exchange programs as well as create more opportunities for more staff and lecturers of DUT-UD to participate in exchange, study and research programs with French partners.

The delegates attending the meeting discussed many issues of interest, including the ideas to strengthen training, scientific research and international cooperation, promote employment opportunities for students.

On the same day, the French Embassy delegation visited the classrooms and practice area of PFIEV program, exchanged with lecturers and students of Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology.
