This was also one of the pioneering universities to open advanced and high quality training programs such as: Vietnam-France high quality Engineer Training (PFIEV) (since 1999); Vietnam-US advanced program (cooperating with Portland University, University of Washington, USA, since 2006); Vietnam-Japan advanced program (cooperating with Nagaoka University, Japan, since 2008), etc.

The university has organized and established the Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology (FAST) with the aim of: Comprehensive and extensive development of training programs based on STEM education (science and technology, technology combined with maths), connecting interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary knowledge according to national and international standards, providing high quality human resources, meeting the requirements of the Industrial Revolution 4.0; promoting scientific research and technology, transfering technology to serve the development and integration requirements of the country - PhD. The university assigned FAST Faculty to directly manage, operate and develop international training programs, including:

- Vietnam-US advanced program with 02 majors: Electronics-Telecommunication (cooperating with University of Washington) and Embedded Systems and IoT (cooperating with University of Portland).

- Vietnam-France high quality Engineer Training (PFIEV) with 03 majors: Automatic Manufacturing, Industrial Informatics (cooperating with Grenoble INP) and Software Technology (cooperating with Polytechnic Marseille University).

Prof. Dr. Dinh Thanh Viet – Director of the Department of Education Quality Assurance - UD, these training programs were all built and developed from the curriculum of prestigious partner universities of the United States and France and have been accredited and qualified to international standards with very high quality indicators:

03 Vietnam-France training programs continuously meet CTI quality standards (Inspection Standards of the Commission for French Engineers Degrees) and EUR-ACE (Standards of the European Technical Program Verification Organization);

02 Vietnam-US training programs are among the top training programs with the highest score in the ASEAN region according to AUN-QA standards.

The University and FAST Faculty paid special attention to recruiting elite and highly qualified domestic faculty and regularly invited international professors and lecturers from many leading universities in the world (University of Washington, University of Portland, Texas Tech University, University of Seattle, USA; University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, Polytechnic Marseille University, France; University of Leeds, UK, etc.). Many experts from leading technology corporations (eSilicon Vietnam, Synopsys, General Electric, etc.) came to teach and guide scientific research for students at FAST faculty.

Students of advanced and high quality programs have received many scholarships from domestic and foreign corporations, enterprises, partners, scholarship funds of the University and especially the scholarship fund "FAST scholarship" (sponsored and supported by enterprises that cooperated with the University and former students) for fresh students with high enrollment results, students with excellent academic achievements and under difficult circumstances, etc.

Thanks to learning by active teaching-learning methods (Project-Based Learning, CIDO Approaching, Project Protection Capstone cooperated with businesses to do practical topics with co-instructors, Learning from real experience-Learning Express, etc.) and practice, internship at international partner companies (See more here), graduates were recruited, had jobs and developed sustainable careers probably at leading technology corporations with a rate of almost 100% (after 06-12 months).
