Recently, member universities of the University of Danang (UD) and UD’s affiliated units such as: University of Science and Education, University of Foreign Language Studies, Campus in Kontum... have organized many practical and meaningful activities for Lao and Cambodian students studying at UD, due to the COVID-19 pandemic they could not be able to return home to celebrate the traditional Bunpimay New Year and Chol Chnam Thmay New Year.

On the occasion of the traditional Bunpimay New Year of Laos, on April 7, 2021, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) paid a visit and delivered greetings the Consulate General of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (PDR) in Da Nang.

On April 12, on the occasion of the traditional New Year festival of Laos (Bunpimay), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – President of the University of Danang (UD), hosted the reception with H.E. Mr. Sengphet Houngboungnuang – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos to Vietnam and his embassy’s delegation.

Recently, at the Final Round of the 2021 Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS), students of the University of Science and Technology – The University of Danang attended and achieved excellent achievement with 06 topics, of which the Safety Coat Project won the second prize
