On November 15, 2025, the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Establishment of the Faculty of Englishwas held at University of Foreign Language Studies (UFLS) - The University of Da Nang (UD).

The event was attended by representatives of UD leadership, the university administration,  partners, and a large number of generations of faculty members and students who have been instrumental in the Faculty's journey of establishment and development.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Kim Anh, Vice Dean in charge of the Faculty of English, the Faculty is one of the core units of UD - UFLS, actively contributing to enhancing the prestige and academic reputation of the University in training and research on English language and culture.

With the relentless efforts of generations of educators, staff, and students/learners of the Faculty, the Faculty of English has now developed robustly with a team comprising 05 Associate Professors, 15 Ph.D. holders, and 42 Masters degree holders. It has gradually perfected its training system from undergraduate to postgraduate levels (Master’s and PhD programs), pioneering innovation and international integration.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Long, Rector of the University, the 40-year journey is a sufficiently long period for generations of teachers and students to reflect, contemplate, and take pride in their contributions to the cause of education and scientific research.

Expressing sincere gratitude for the valuable contributions of the Faculty's generations of educators, staff, and learners, the University leadership affirmed that the Faculty of English continues to uphold its tradition and position as one of the University's key training units.

In response to the demand for improving the quality of education, scientific research, and digital transformation to align with the process of internationalizing higher education, the university leadership expressed their hope and request for the Faculty to continue promoting its pioneering spirit. The Faculty is encouraged to focus on enhancing the qualifications and capacity of its teaching staff, strengthening research and international publications, and prioritizing innovation to improve the quality of undergraduate and postgraduate training toward interdisciplinary connection and promotion of international cooperation.

On this occasion, the Faculty of English launched the Alumni Network and introduced the Bridge Scholarship Fund, with an initial support of over 400 million VND along with in-kind donations. The fund will be effectively utilized to support and accompany students on their academic journey and future career development.
