(All four attending from the French Republic). The Symposium also features over 100 delegates, including scientists, experts, and lecturers from universities, research institutes, and enterprises across relevant sectors both domestic and international. Furthermore, the Conference serves as an opportunity for academic exchange and practical experience for 12 student teams competing in the Final Round of the “Smart Campus - 2025” Competition.

According to Prof. Dr. Sc. Le Thanh Nhan - Director of  UD - DNIIT Institute,  this is an international scientific event series that coordinates and closely links government authorities, the scientific community, and domestic and foreign enterprises. This collaboration supports Da Nang City in implementing its strategy to develop a Smart, Creative, and Experiential City.

Through ISSCEI - 2025, the event contributes to promoting scientific and technological initiatives, sharing knowledge and experiences, and proposing and implementing practical solutions. This is particularly significant in the context of Vietnam's strong implementation of major policies such as Resolutions No. 57, No. 59, and No. 71. These efforts aim to enhance competitiveness, improve productivity, and foster quality growth for the city and its businesses.

Mr. Ho Quang Buu, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, stated that in recent years, Da Nang has continuously achieved outstanding results in applying new technologies (Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Cloud Computing, Digital Technology, etc.). The city has been recognized as one of the pioneering localities in building a smart city with the main pillars of Digital Government, Digital Economy, and Digital Society. The online public service system is increasingly being perfected; the common data platform, integration axis, and open data warehouse are synchronously developed and strongly applied in many fields such as smart urban management, healthcare, education, and transportation.

The city's leadership highly appreciates the significance of the Symposium, particularly acknowledging the dynamic and pioneering role of the DNIIT Institute in particular, and UD and the scientific community in general, in the mission of developing and transferring knowledge and new technologies.

The city leaders hope and expect that ISSCEI – 2025 will yield more research results, solutions, and in-depth consulting orientations from domestic and foreign scientists and experts. The event is expected to open opportunities to promote triple helix collaboration (Government, Academia, and Industry), focusing on human resource training, deploying joint research projects, technology transfer, and attracting investment into key sectors such as: AI, IoT, Semiconductor Chips...

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan - Vice President of UD, with its role and position as one of the leading centers for education and scientific research in Vietnam, UD has entered a new phase of development and is honored to be selected by the Central Government as one of Vietnam's four leading universities for focused investment, aiming to become a world-class research university (striving to rank in the Top 150 universities in Asia and have at least one field ranked in the Top 100 globally).

To fulfill this new mission and significant responsibilities, UD always prioritizes promoting collaboration with ministries, central agencies, local governments especially Danang City as well as universities and enterprises both domestically and internationally. The university focuses on training and researching strategic technological fields, proactively pioneering and accompanying Danang in its journey toward becoming a center for innovation, entrepreneurship, and a smart city.

UD leadership representative sincerely thanked the scientists, city leaders, and departments/agencies for their support and collaboration in organizing the ISSCEI - 2025 symposium, along with related events, exhibition activities, and the Smart Campus Contest for students for sustainable development.

At the Plenary Session, delegates heard two keynote speakers present topics of scientific and practical significance, including: "Renewable Energy Strategy and Energy Efficiency for Smart Cities" by Prof. Trần Quốc Tuấn from the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA); "GINSENG: Da Nang Geological and Environmental Safety Initiative".

The specialized sessions, poster exhibitions, and in-depth training and exchange workshops proposed numerous ideas, solutions, and strategic orientations for building smart cities, efficient and sustainable use of renewable energy, and initiatives concerning the environment, geography, and adaptation to climate change.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee of ISSCEI - 2025 presented awards for the final round of the Smart Campus Contest and the Outstanding Technical Paper Authors awards to the research teams.

The success of the ISSCEI - 2025 international symposium not only highlights the potential and trend of strengthening research networks, integrating knowledge and technology with the practical development of Danang City, and promoting the growth of smart cities, but also underscores the pivotal and pioneering role of UD -DNIIT as a bridge within the regional and international academic community.
