On November 6, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the University of Danang (UD) had an online meeting with Professor Vu Minh Khuong - Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore (NUS), member of the Economic Advisory Group of the Prime Minister of Vietnam (2016-2021) and representatives of leaders of NUS.

Also attending were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc - Vice Chairman of the UD Council; representatives of the leaders of departments of UD (Training and Education Quality Assurance, Science and International Cooperation, Student Affairs, Partners and Communication).

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of UD introduced the general and outstanding features of UD. UD was selected by the Central Steering Committee for Science and Technology Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation as 1 of 4 universities to receive key investment and serve as a model for Vietnam's higher education system (Conclusion Announcement No. 45-TB/TGV). This is a great opportunity coupled with challenges when the University of Danang receives key investments to develop into one of the top universities in Asia.

President of UD said that, taking advantage of being located in the city of Danang with similarities and dynamic development, especially in high-tech industries and fields like Singapore, UD plays an important role in developing high-tech human resources, serving the goal of developing the semiconductor industry, an international financial center and a free trade zone.

According Professor Vu Minh Khuong, NUS highly appreciates the opportunity and potential for cooperation with UD. With its academic reputation and strengths in many fields and technologies such as computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, biomedicine and health sciences, NUS has a team of leading scientists and experts to connect and cooperate in training and research with UD.

According to Prof Jessica Pan - Vice Provost (Graduate Education), Dean (NUS Graduate School), Provost’s Chair Professor of Economics, NUS postgraduate programs meet very high academic standards. With favorable cultural and geographical conditions, being in the ASEAN region, there are opportunities for the two sides to cooperate in exchanging experts and linking postgraduate training.

President of UD Nguyen Ngoc Vu proposed and suggested a cooperation orientation focusing on 4 strategic fields, meeting the requirements and objectives of Conclusion 45, which are: Semiconductor, Artificial Intelligence, Biotechnology (associated with health sciences) and Fintech.

Prof. Vu Minh Khuong highly appreciated and agreed with the cooperation orientation between UD and NUS; hoped that the two sides would promote the contents of the agreement to sign and implement immediately.

UD will select lecturers for PhD training, co-supervision programs for PhD students, and intensive internships at NUS; invite leading prestigious lecturers and scientists from NUS to teach advanced programs in English, participate in joint research groups with UD; increase exchanges of lecturers and students and joint training with NUS in flexible ways (3+1, 2+2, 1+3) to form a generation of young talents for the country.
