On April 24, 2025, the University of Science and Technology - University of Danang (UD) hosted a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony with several Korean partners, including Ulsan Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (UCCEI), Vietnam Innovation Network in Korea (VINK), University of Ulsan (UU), and Ulsan College (UC).

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Tien Dung, Vice Rector of the University of Science and Technology - UD, this initiative aligns with the University’s strategic direction for scientific research and innovation. It also provides valuable resources and learning opportunities from Korea’s well-established innovation ecosystem.

Welcoming the partners and signing the MOU, the representative of the leaders of the University of Science and Technology - UD highly appreciated the significance and promising prospects of this cooperation.

It is expected to bring mutual benefits and support the development of technology and engineering fields through the “triple helix” model connecting the Universities, Industry and Government - particularly between the dynamic cities of Ulsan and Danang.

Representatives from UCCEI, UU, and UC introduced key highlights of their institutions, including their missions, strengths, and collaboration potential.

Mr. Hee-Chul Cho, Director of the Planning Division at UCCEI, noted that the Vietnam-Korea Startups Ecosystem Exchange (VKSEE) program places a strong emphasis on innovation initiatives and research outcomes.

He highlighted that this program presents a valuable opportunity to support Vietnamese startups in expanding their markets and accessing resources from Ulsan - Korea’s hub for industry and high technology, while also promoting academic exchange and the development of high-quality human resources.

Under the terms of the MOU, the parties will collaborate on identifying and nurturing potential startup projects and selecting students to join innovation and startup teams participating in the VKSEE program. The partners and the University of Science and Technology - UD will share information on training programs, workshops, and capacity-building sessions, as well as jointly organize events to foster a startup mindset among students.
