The Kulturstudier program: The Bridge To Bring Vietnam’s Vietnamese culture and language to the world

11/09/2025

Continuing the success of previous seasons, the University of Danang (UD) - Vietnam-UK Institute for Research and Training (VNUK) recently welcomed 50 students from Norway and Sweden who enthusiastically joined the Kulturstudier and Development Studies Program for the fall of 2025.

The program, organized by the Kulturstudier organization and its international partners along with UD – VNUK, is characterized by its focus on connecting academics, culture, and sustainable development for international students.

This is also an opportunity for young lecturers and students of VNUK to exchange and gain experience in a multicultural academic environment.

According to representatives from VNUK, the institute has selected eight VNUK ambassadors to accompany and guide the Nordic students.

Among them, four ambassadors have been awarded full scholarships to participate full-time with the group during their study and exploration of the ancient town of Hoi An, while the other four will join field trips, courses, and weekly specialized talk shows.

International students were guided and had many topics shared with them by professors and experts, all with a distinct Vietnamese and local cultural identity, particularly as they relate to globalization and sustainable development.

The international students' destinations in the program are not only at VNUK but also extend to famous attractions, museums in Da Nang, and the Co Tu ethnic minority village.

With eight weeks of beneficial study and experience, the program is designed to be flexible, rich, and engaging. It's hoped that this will further inspire the students, build a bridge of friendship, and help convey Vietnamese culture and language to international friends.
