Students from the UD won Bronze Medal at the ICPC Asia Ho Chi Minh City - 2025

From December 8 to December 12, 2025, at the ICPC Asia Ho Chi Minh City - 2025 International Collegiate Programming Contest, the BKDN.LoveBaku team from University of Science and Technology (DUT) - The University of Danang (UD): Luu Duy Quang, Nguyen Đuc Nha, Nguyen Dac Bao An won a Bronze Medal and secured a spot in the Asia Pacific Championship. Student Nguyen Đuc Nha from UD-DUT also excelled in winning the Super Cup.

Earlier, as part of the series of events, at the 1st “Vietnam Student Artificial Intelligence Olympiad” (OlpAI’25), held for the first time on a national scale, students from UD-DUT impressively won the Championship Cup. 

At the 34th Vietnam National Student Olympiad in Informatics, students Hoang Diep Tien from UD-DUT  and Nguyen Viet Thanh Dat from the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) - UD excelled in winning two First Prizes (Specialized Informatics category). Student Hoang Diep Tien was honored with the award for "Best Female Student."

In addition, UD students also excelled in winning 3 Second Prizes (Dang Nguyen Huu Huy and Dang Phuc Long from UD-DUT, and Trinh Cong Kien from UD - VKU and 1 Third Prize (Phan Ka Ka from UD - VKU).

Furthermore, the student team from UD - VKU, consisting of Le Kim Hoang Trung, Ho Sy Bao Nhan, and Dao Khanh Duy, achieved the Encouragement Prize (Team) in the Open Source Software category.

This is a series of academic events organized by the Vietnam Informatics Association, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, under the sponsorship of various ministries, central agencies (the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City).

According to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Thuy - Chairman of the Vietnam Informatics Association and Head of the Steering Committee, this year's competitions were the largest in scale ever, gathering nearly 1,000 IT students and nearly 200 coaches from 87 universities, colleges, and academies.

The event also featured international student teams from South Korea, Taiwan (China), Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, and was extended to include high school students.

UD-VKU was honored to receive the flag to host the 35th Vietnam National Student Olympiad in Informatics and other prestigious competitions such as the 2nd Vietnam Student Artificial Intelligence Olympiad, the Procon Competitive Programming Contest, and the ICPC Asia International Collegiate Programming Contest in 2026.
