Team DUT.AI, comprising students Nguyen Van Thuong, Le Vo Nhat Minh, and Dang Phuc Long from the University of Da Nang – University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT), won first place at the Vietnam Student Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (OlpAI’25). The event was held on 10 December 2025 and organized by the Vietnam Informatics Association.

According to the organizers, OlpAI’25 is a nationwide academic competition that drew 124 teams with nearly 367 students in the regional rounds and 59 teams with 177 students in the final round.
The team-based format required participants to solve problems using advanced methods such as machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing, while also demonstrating strong teamwork skills.

In the final round, teams had six hours to tackle tasks involving complex data processing, AI modeling, and programming on GPU‑cloud platforms, testing both their technical expertise and their ability to perform under time pressure.
The competition is designed to identify and nurture talent in information technology and artificial intelligence, contributing to the development of a high‑quality workforce to support Vietnam’s national strategy on AI adoption and digital transformation in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Alongside the championship title for DUT.AI, students from UD-DUT also earned a consolation prize with team DUT.HTH, made up of students Do Chanh Hieu and Nguyen The Huy.
University officials said the results are a source of pride for the institution and further reinforce its status as one of Vietnam’s leading centers for engineering and technology education, research, and innovation.
