Examining Master's degree qualification for foreigners in phase 2 of 2020 - Course 42

The University of Danang (UD) announces the admission of master degree program for foreigners in the second phase of 2020 (course 42) at the UD’s member units: University of Science and Technology, University of Economics, University of Science and Education and University of Foreign Language Studies ​​(hereinafter referred to as training institutions) as follows:

1. Majors and admision methods 

List of admission majors and expected enrollment targets of training institutions is shown in Appendix I.

Admission method: Record examination.

2. Training program, training time and tuition fee

- The training program includes 02 orientations: Research orientation and application orientation (after matriculation, students are required to register at training institutions).

- Training duration: From 1.5 years to 02 years of study depending on the training program of each major and each training institution.

- Tuition fee:

Foreign students under agreement: Standards, regimes and training expenses comply with current regulations of the Ministry of Finance and international treaties to which Vietnam is a member.

Foreign students are not subject to agreement: basing on the notice of tuition fees for the 2020-2021 school year of training institutions

3. Requirements for admission

3.1. Requirements on qualification

Candidates must meet one of the following conditions:

a. Having a university degree of the right major relevant to the one in which he/she registers to take a master's degree training according to current regulations;

b. Having a university degree of the major close to the one in which he/she registers to take a master's degree training and has additionally learned the knowledge prescribed by the training institutions;

c. Having university degrees in other disciplines may register the master's degree program in the field of administration and management after supplementing their knowledge according to the training institution's regulations.

3.2. Requirements on language

Language requirements are specified in Circular No. 30/2018/TT-BGDĐT December 24, 2018 of the Ministry of Education and Training.

a. Foreign students who have graduated from all levels of secondary education, college, university, masters and doctorate training in Vietnamese language or have achieved a Vietnamese level equivalent to B2 (level 4/6) or higher according to the Vietnamese competence framework prescribed in the Circular No. 17/2015/TT-BGDĐT dated 01/9/2015 by Minister of Education and Training that promulgating the Vietnamese language competence framework for foreigners who are exempt from requirements on Vietnamese conditions.

b. Foreign students who have not reached Vietnamese level to enter the official program in Vietnamese shall take Vietnamese foundation course.

3.3. Requirements on supplementing knowledge

For candidates who are required to study additional modules, candidates are required to register at UD’s member units and get transcript before entering official program.

3.4. Requirements on working experiences

a. Graduates holding degree of right or relevant major to master training; holders of degrees close to the registered field who have additionally studied their knowledge according to the prescribed registrations are not required working experiences;

b. Candidates holding university degrees in other disciplines applying for the ones in the field of administration and management must have at least 02 (two) years of working experience in the field of enrollment registration calculated from the date of degree receipt up to the date of enrollment admission with certification by the employer.

c. For “Educational Management” major

- Research orientation: Those who graduated from the right, appropriate and close major at good ranking or higher shall be eligible to be admitted immediately without working seniority requirement;

- Application orientation: Those who graduated from the right, appropriate and close major shall be eligible to be admitted immediately without requiring working seniority;

- The other cases: At least 02 (two) years of working experiences in the field of education (including candidates holding university degrees of good ranking or higher), in one of the following working positions: Principals, deputy principals and reserve officials at kindergarten and upwards; Deans, Vice Deans, heads and vice heads of universities, colleges and junior colleges; Officers of departments of universities, colleges and junior colleges; Leaders and officers working in educational management of political organizations, social-political organizations, Ministries, Ministerial-level agencies, Provincial-level People's Committees, Departments of Education and Training and Offices of Education and Training.

4. Admission registration documents and fees

4.1. Admission registration documents

a. Registration form for foreigners studying in Vietnam (Form prescribed by UD) (Form CH-1);

b. Copied version and Vietnamese translation version of the university degree and transcript;

c. Certificate of language requirements according to the Circular 30/2018/TT-BGDĐT dated 24/12/2018 by Ministry of Education and Training;

d. Certified resume (within 03 months to the time of submission) (Form CH-2);

e. Copy version and certified translation copy of birth certificate;

f. Health certificate (within 06 months to the time of submission);

g. Copy of passport with valid date for the entire period of study in Vietnam or at least 01 year from the expected date of arrival to Vietnam;

h. Proof of payment of admission fee

i. 04 photos (4x6) within 06 months to the time of submission.

4.2. Admission registration  

Admission registration time: From the date of notification to the end 20/11/2020.

4.3. Location of submission

Candidates submit an application directly to Department of International Cooperation, Level 10, Building B, the University of Danang, No. 41, Le Duan street, Hai Chau district, Danang city;

4.4. Admission fee

Admission fee: 100.000 VND/candidate/application.

Candidates submit admission fee directly to Department of Planning-Finance, Room 107, Building A, the University of Danang,  No. 41, Le Duan street, Hai Chau district, Danang city.

5. Date of admission and enrollment

Admission: Expected to be held in December 2020.

Enrollment: Expected to be held in January 2021.
