On July 1, 2024, a Conference to summarize the site clearance work of 40 hectares in Hoa Quy ward under the construction of technical infrastructure and urgent works for the University of Danang (UD) was organized at the People's Committee of Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang City.

The conference aimed to evaluate, summarize, and hand over the project site to the Investor-UD, at the same time, rewarded individuals with achievements in the site clearance work.

UD President gave flowers to give special thanks to local leaders who paid attention, supported, and accompanied with the site clearance work.

According to Ms. Cao Thi Huyen Tran, Secretary of the Ngu Hanh Son District’s Party Committee, the pressure on the Project was on progress and time requirements to ensure commitments with the city as well as the World Bank (within 6 months from November 24, 2023). The compensation and site clearance mission of the Project in Hoa Quy ward, Ngu Hanh Son district is in phase 01 with a recovery area of ​​40 hectares.

In the coming time, Ngu Hanh Son District will continue to complete the remaining procedures for site clearance work of phase 01 of the 40ha; bringing the total area of ​​land recovery to the investor to 78.6 hectares (out of the total project area planned in Hoa Quy ward is 110 hectares).

Leaders of Ngu Hanh Son District requested UD to promote the implementation of project management plans for the area of recovered and handed over land, avoiding cases of re-encroachment by building houses on and the situation of dumping waste, and debris affecting the urban environment and aesthetics.

At the same time, UD reported to the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) on the results of site clearance for the Project to implement the investment work items on the handed-over land area, avoiding the situation of letting vacant land; Propose MOET soon had a plan to implement site clearance for the remaining area (31.4 hectares of phase 2).

Proposing the Da Nang People's Committee send a document to the MOET requesting to implement the project investment items on the cleared and handed over land area, and soon have the plan to carry out site clearance for the remaining area in Hoa Quy ward.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – UD President, this was a very important event, bringing great significance to UD when summarizing the completion of the 40ha Site Clearance Project in Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang City (with total investment). 675 billion VND) and handed over the premises to UD to implement the World Bank's ODA loan project. This is a great achievement in the current context of site clearance work facing many difficulties.

Especially thanks to the participation and drastic direction with a high sense of responsibility for site clearance work by the leaders of the District Party Committee and Ngu Hanh Son People's Committee, including Hoa Quy ward, which had maintained the status, not allowing illegal construction for many years, creating favorable conditions for site clearance work.

The handover of the Project site is very important to contribute to realizing the goal and strategy of developing UD into one of the three leading scientific research and training centers in the country, targeting the region and the world, making an important contribution to the training of high-quality human resources for the Central area- Western Highlands in particular and the country in general. More and more opportunities will be opened, creating conditions to attract tens of thousands of domestic and international students to study, research, and live in the UD Urban Area.

With a large number of students and a young and healthy team of cadres, it will make an important contribution to the successful implementation of goals such as Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW of the Politburo, including the development of Da Nang city to become a training and innovation center and a high-quality medical center. Ngu Hanh Son District will have a modern university urban area, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people, and contributing to the socio-economic development of the District.

The project has a meaningful premise for the successful implementation of the ODA project of UD to realize the UD Urban Area, contributing to the development of education and training, the economy and society of Da Nang city, the region, and the whole country.

On this occasion, the Ngu Hanh Son People's Committee rewarded 20 individuals who contributed to the project's site clearance work, contributing to the completion of the project to build technical infrastructure and urgent works for UD.
