On September 16, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan - Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) chaired a meeting to welcome and work with Mr. Pierre Du Ville - the Head of the Wallonia-Brussels Delegation in Vietnam.

Also attending were Assistant to the Delegation; representatives of relevant departments (Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance, Science and International Cooperation); representatives from the Office of Science - Technology and International Cooperation of University of Economics - UD, University of Foreign Language Studies - UD. 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan - Vice President of UD warmly welcomed and highly appreciated the visit and work of the Wallonie-Bruxelles Delegation in Vietnam; sincerely thanked the support and effective cooperation between the Delegation and UD in the past time.

Introducing the general and outstanding features of UD with a tradition of more than 30 years of construction and development, inheriting 50 years of the member universities, the representative of UD shared with partners about the goals and strategies to develop the UD into a National University.

To achieve this strategic goal, UD always attaches importance to international cooperation; expand relationships with partners, including Wallonia-Brussels in logistics, business, French language and related scientific fields, building on existing and ongoing joint projects.

Du Ville reaffirmed the Delegation’s commitment to sustaining current programs with UD despite external changes and highlighted the broader, long-standing academic ties between Belgium and Vietnam. Mr. Pierre Du Ville expressed interest in further supporting Francophone initiatives and student exchanges.

Both sides agreed to continue to maintain follow-up engagement, including with alumni of joint programs. This will be the foundation for developing cooperation not only between universities but also enhancing the friendly cooperation between the Wallonie-Bruxelles region and Da Nang city.
