On the morning of June 6, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) chaired the meeting and worked with Mr. Brett Lovegrove – Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Global Partnerships) of the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia.
Also attending were Ms. Thai Thi Cam Chi – Country Manager of UQ in Vietnam and representatives of leaders of relevant departments of UD (Academic Affairs; Science, Technology and Environment; International Cooperation; Student Affairs) and leaders of the Department of International Cooperation of UD-University of Foreign Language Studies.

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of UD would like to welcome Pro-Vice-Chancellor of UQ Brett Lovegrove to visit and work with UD for the first time in his new position.
Vice President of UD Le Quang Son introduced to UQ leaders the overview and highlights about UD as a national key regional university consisting of 06 member universities and affiliated institutes, faculties, branches and centers with a training scale of more than 55,000 students/ trainees and international students/ interns.

Leaders of the two sides exchange to understand cooperation needs and opportunities
The representative of UD leaders highly appreciated the visit and work of UQ leaders, considering this as a new mark to promote and elevate cooperation between the two sides for sustainable development.
Sharing with the leaders of UD, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of UQ Brett Lovegrove expressed his joy and honor when visiting UD and was warmly welcomed. The representative of UQ leaders shared with UD leaders the highlights about that UQ currently has 360 training programs in many fields from science and technology to social sciences and humanities, economics, medicine and health care.

The representative of UQ leaders said that energy is a global issue and UQ has strengths in many related fields of training and applied research. Through the visit and working with UD, UQ wishes and hopes to understand more about needs and opportunities to strengthen connections and improve cooperation efficiency in the coming time.

In an atmosphere of sincerity and understanding, leaders of the two sides shared interests in possible cooperation contents that the two sides have potential and strengths such as: Exchange of lecturers/ experts and students; Coordinating participation in joint research projects; Organizing international scientific conferences; Implementing the 2+2, 3+1 joint training programs as well as looking for scholarship sources for students and lecturers, etc. Especially in which there is a need to train doctoral students, according to Project 89 of the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training.

UD and UQ have established a close cooperation relationship for more than 20. Many staff and lecturers of UD’s member universities and UD's affiliated training units have had the opportunity to receive scholarships for postgraduate training and research-teaching by UQ, especially in the English language major.
