Leaders of the University of Danang welcomed and worked with German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)

On the morning of March 7, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son, Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) chaired the meeting with Mr. Felix Wagenfeld, Director, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)-Regional Office Hanoi.
Attending the meeting were also representatives of UD-Department of Science and International Cooperation, UD- Department of Quality Assurance, UD-Department of Student Affairs, and senior representatives of Office of Science and International Cooperation of UD’s member universities.
Vice President Le Quang Son also briefly introduced the overview and highlights of UD with its new role and position in the development strategy of striving to become one of the three Vietnamese leading centers of training and scientific research, reaching the prestige and international position.

At the meeting, Mr. Felix Wagenfeld highly appreciated the achievements of UD as well as gave a general introduction about DAAD and DAAD scholarship programs and projects for lecturers and postgraduate students, especially scholarships and grants to support universities to enhance academic exchange, develop dual degree programs, strengthen management capacity related to internationalization, research management, human resource management..., promoting the cooperation relationship between Vietnamese Universities and German Universities.
DAAD is the world's largest academic exchange organization. Acting as a general association of more than 240 German Universities, DAAD has its headquarters in Bonn and a network of representative Offices, Information Centers as well as Centers for Science and Innovation in more than 60 countries worldwide. With nearly 1,000 employees working around the world, each year DAAD sponsors more than 145,000 people.


During the discussion session, representatives from UD and UD’s member universities expressed their desire to coordinate with DAAD to organize prestigious seminars to increase accessibility for lecturers and staff in Da Nang, and develop staff and lecturers exchange programs, access capacity building projects, receive visiting professors and expand cooperation networks with German universities. Mr. Felix Wagenfeld also expressed his pleasure when having two leaders of UD who were alumni of DAAD program participated in this meeting.
The meeting ended in a joyful and exciting atmosphere, through which representatives of both sides exchanged and reached a high consensus on cooperation perspectives.
After the meeting at UD, Mr. Felix Wagenfeld had a working session with leaders of UD- University of Economics (UD-DUE) and had a talk with UD-DUE’s lecturers and students.
