On December 2, 2025, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (LPRD) (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2025), The University of Danang - University of Science and Education (UD-UED) organized a gathering with Lao international students currently studying at UD-UED.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Vice Rector of UD-UED, on behalf of the University's leadership, extended his best wishes to the Lao international students. He expressed his hope that these students would continue to act as "ambassadors"  in contributing to the development and prosperity of their home country, Laos, as well as  furthering the achievements of the Vietnam-Laos educational cooperation.

According to Vice Rector Nguyen Van Hieu, the University currently has over 300 Lao international students, who contribute to creating a dynamic, multicultural academic environment and serve as solid bridges in the special friendly relationship and steadfast educational cooperation between the two countries, Vietnam and Laos.

Building on a tradition and more than 25 years of experience in educating international students, most of whom are Lao students, the University has so far trained over 2,000 Lao students from almost all provinces and cities of the friendly nation of Laos. This training covers all educational levels, from Vietnamese Language Preparation and Undergraduate to Postgraduate studies, across various fields to meet the needs of the learners and practical demands.

In addition, UD-UED welcomes over 200 Lao international students each year and implements various rich programs, ranging from Vietnamese language training, undergraduate, and postgraduate studies to short-term training courses. Cultural and sports exchange activities, along with connections between Lao students and the University's Vietnamese students, as well as local communities in both countries, have contributed to strengthening mutual understanding and solidifying community cohesion and people-to-people diplomacy.

With the attention and guidance of UD, as well as  the support and coordination from the Lao Consulate General in Da Nang and local authorities, especially Da Nang city, the training of Lao international students has increasingly received attention and focus. This effort aims to create the most favorable environment and conditions for Lao students to study and train with peace of mind. For its positive achievements and contributions, UD-UED, has been honored with medals and commendation certificates from various levels of the friendly nation of Laos.
