On the occasion of the Bunpimay Traditional New Year 2026,  member universities of the University of Danang (University of Science and Technology, University of Economics, University of Education, and University of Foreign Language Studies) organized a New Year program for international students.

The event aimed to create a cultural space rich in traditional identity while serving as an opportunity to strengthen the bond and foster mutual understanding between Vietnamese and Lao students.

Bunpimay is the most significant and important festival of the Lao people, marking the transition between the old year and the new year. It is not only an occasion to pray for peace, luck, and happiness but also a time for individuals to reflect on their families, homeland, and cherished traditional values.

Sacred traditional rituals such as tying threads around the wrist to wish for blessings, honoring the Triple Gem, praying to deities, and splashing water for good fortune were fully recreated. These activities help Lao students feel more secure while studying in Vietnam, preserving their roots and spreading their national identity.

Through these meaningful events, the spirit of solidarity, mutual understanding, and close bonds between Vietnamese and Lao students continue to be strengthened and developed sustainably.
