Professor Tran Van Tho's specialized talk on Vietnam's economic development with lecturers and students from UD-DUE

On May 21, 2025, at the University of Economics (DUE) - University of Da Nang (UD), Professor Tran Van Tho delivered a specialized talk to the university's lecturers, students and postgraduate students on the topic: "Vietnam's Economy: Reform Mindset and Aspiration for National Development." On this occasion, the attendees were also introduced to the professor's book, "Memories Towards the Future.

Professor Tran Van Tho is an Emeritus Professor at Waseda University (Japan), a former member of the Vietnamese Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Group. He is the author of numerous research works and valuable books on the economic development of both Vietnam and Japan, some of which have received Asia-Pacific regional awards.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the University Council of the University of Economics (UTE) - UD, this was a precious opportunityfor the university's faculty and students to grasp and share Professor Tran Van Tho's mindset and vision regarding economic reform orientation, thereby realizing the Vietnamese nation's aspiration to rise.

At the seminar, Professor Tran Van Tho shared many profound insights, including international development models and experiences, particularly the example of Japan, Vietnam's development path and growth model orientation towards the dual goals of 2030 and 2045, striving to become a high-income nation.

The book "Memories Towards the Future" is one of Professor Tran Van Tho's new works published by Omega Vietnam. It compiles political essays, reflections, and emotional sketches, thereby showcasing the intellect and dedication of one of the prominent Vietnamese intellectuals abroad who consistently grapples with concerns for the nation's development.

The insights gained from Professor Tran Van Tho's sharing and experiences inspire lecturers and students of UD-DUE on their journey to acquire knowledge and collectively look towards the future.
