Recently, on June 26-27, 2025, the Delegation from the Vietnamese Language Center of Sekong Province (Laos) conducted visits, hold working sessions, and promoted friendly language and cultural exchange at member universities of UD such as: UD-UED and UD-UFLS.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Vice Rector of UD - UED, stated that this activity is highly practical and significant, contributing to nurturing the traditional friendship, particularly in educational cooperation, cultural and linguistic exchange, between the university and its Lao partners.

With over 20 years of experience in training Lao students, especially through courses on the Vietnamese language and culture for foreigners, UD - UED warmly welcomed the delegation from the Vietnamese Language Center of Sekong Province.

The university expressed its hope and belief that this strong partnership will lead to continued activities aimed at improving Vietnamese language proficiency for Lao pupils and students. The ultimate goal is to see an increasing number of Lao students pursuing their studies at UD.

On this occasion, representatives from the Department of Science - Information Technology - International Cooperation at the university introduced various Vietnamese language training programs for foreigners. Many generations of Lao students and Laotian students who graduated from the university have since matured and made significant contributions to the development of their local communities and the nation of Laos.

According to Dr. Huynh Ngoc Mai Kha, Vice Rector of UD-UFLS, Vietnam and Laos share a long-standing and special friendship, in which education and training have always been prioritized areas of cooperation.

The university is currently training many Laotian students across various disciplines such as Vietnamese Language and Culture, International Studies, including significant number of these students come from provinces in Southern and Central Laos.

At the program, in a vibrant and friendly atmosphere , featuring a variety of enriching exchange activities. These included: Welcoming cultural performances, discussions and presentations on the potential and strengths of both sides in Vietnamese language and culture training, academic exchanges, video screenings showcasing the academic and daily lives of Lao students at the University of Da Nang's member universities, and mini-games designed to explore the cultures and languages of both Vietnam and Laos.
