The Consulate General of Laos in Da Nang visits and extends Binh Ngo Lunar New Year greetings to UD

On the morning of February 4, 2026, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Bính Ngọ) 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khanthaly Khamphilavong - First Secretary of the Education and Culture Section, the Consulate General of the Lao PDR in Da Nang paid a visit and extended New Year greetings to the University of Da Nang (UD). The reception was hosted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Bac, Vice President of UD.

Also attending the meeting were representatives of UD’s relevant units, including Department of Science and International Cooperation and Department of Student Affairs, Corporate Relations and Communications.

On behalf of the leadership of the Consulate General of the Lao PDR in Da Nang, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khanthaly Khamphilavong conveyed the warmest New Year wishes to UD’s leaders, staff, lecturers, and students on the occasion of Viet Nam’s traditional Lunar New Year (Bính Ngọ). He highly appreciated and sincerely thanked UD’s leadership, faculty members, and employees, as well as its member universities, for their continued attention and support in creating favorable conditions for Lao international students to study and live effectively at UD.

The Consulate General expressed its hope and confidence that the close relationship between the two sides would continue to be strengthened, contributing to the special friendship between Viet Nam and Laos, particularly in the field of education.

In response, Vice President Le Thanh Bac expressed his sincere appreciation for the thoughtful New Year greetings and valuable sentiments, especially the Consulate General’s close attention, coordination, guidance, and companionship in educational cooperation and training, as well as in supporting the management and care of Lao international students at UD.

In a cordial and friendly atmosphere, leaders of both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and further promoting cooperation in education and training, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources.

Representatives of UD’s functional departments also reported and shared updates on the overall situation of Lao international students, noting their excitement in experiencing and celebrating the Vietnamese Lunar New Year through various meaningful activities such as gift-giving for international students and cultural exchange events recently organized at UD’s member universities (read more)
