The MoU signing ceremony between The University of Danang and Saxion University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands

On the morning of September 26th, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the University of Danang (UD) and Ms. Grandma Anka Mulder- President of Saxion University of Applied Sciences (SUAS), the Netherlands co-chaired the MoU signing ceremony between the two sides.
Attending the ceremony, there were also senior representatives from the relevant departments of SUAS (International Relations, Education and Student Support); Dean of School of Finance Accounting and International Business-SUAS; Director of Physiotherapy Program, School of Health-SUAS; senior representative of UD-International Cooperation Department, relevant offices and faculties of UD-University of Science and Technology, UD-University of Economics and UD-School of Medicine and Pharmacy.

President Nguyen Ngoc Vu warmly welcomed the SUAS’s delegation to UD as well as introduced the overview and highlights of UD- a key regional university of the nation with 06 member universities and 08 affiliated units.
UD is prioritized to develop into one of the three leading scientific research and training centers in Vietnam. In the development strategy, UD has always focused on innovating curriculums and teaching-learning methods to constantly improve training quality to adapt the social needs in the changing domestic and international context.

Along with the improvement of scientific research, international publication and application of research results for regional and national development, UD always attaches a special importance to not only international cooperation with prestigious universities, but also the active participation in key international projects such as the Partnership for Higher Education Reform (PHER) funded by the U.S. partners for 3 leading universities of Vietnam including UD and 02 Vietnam National Universities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
For the academic year 2022-2023, with the theme as “the year for promoting international and enterprises cooperation”, President Nguyen Ngoc vu hoped that the MOU signing ceremony between UD & SUAS would contribute to deepen the cooperation relationship, bringing practical effects in the fields of lecturers and students mobility, join programs, etc.

According to SUAS President Anka Mulder, SUAS was a multidisciplinary university (from health care to economics, finance, engineering, technology...). SUAS currently offers bachelor's and master's programs and soon open doctoral programs in the near future.
With strengths in applied research fields, SUAS had been having close relationships with agencies, organizations and businesses, and focused on expanding cooperation between Europe and Asia, in which Vietnam in general and Da Nang in particular was an important destination.

According to the signed MOU, the two sides would cooperate to deploy: (1) Lecture and student mobility programs; (2) Joint training programs; (3) Joint research projects...

SUAS is one of the largest institutions of higher education in the Netherlands, with close to 27,000 students. SUAS consists of eleven academies, each representing a different field of specialization and study courses: School of Business, Building & Technology; School of Governance, Law & Urban Development; School of Creative Technology; School of Finance & Accounting; School of Health; Hospitality Business School; School of Life Science, Engineering & Design; School of Marketing & International Management; School of Applied Psychology and (International) Human Resources Management School of Social Work; School of Education; International Business School (IBS)
