The MoU signing ceremony between the University of Danang, Vietnam  and Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand

 

On the morning of February 25th, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – President of the University of Danang (UD) and Dr. Eden Woon - President of Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) co-chaired the online MoU signing ceremony between UD and AIT.

On the side of UD, there were also Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son-UD’s Vice President in charge of Research and International Cooperation; Assoc. Prof.  Dr. Doan Quang Vinh-Rector of UD-University of Science and Technology; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Cao Tho - Rector of UD-University of Technology and Education; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice Rector of UD-University of Economics; Dr. Nguyen Thi My Huong- Dean of UD - VN-UK Institute of Research and Executive Education and senior representatives of relevant departments and offices.

At the ceremony, UD’s President Nguyen Ngoc Vu warmly welcomed delegates to the event and introduces briefly about UD – a nationally-prominent, multi-disciplinary, key regional university with 06 member universities and 07 affiliated units, more than 2,500 staff members, 56,000 students - as well as the importance of international cooperation development to improve the training and scientific research quality.

Currently, UD has long lasting relationships with various prestigious universities in the world, especially many partners from Thailand such as Thammasat University, Khon Kaen University, Prince of Songkla University etc.

“We are impressed by the prestige and high quality of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), an international English-speaking postgraduate institution with experiential outreach programs prepare graduates for professional success and leadership roles in Asia and beyond. The relationship between AIT and UD stems mainly from the human resource training. Many UD’s lecturers have studied and researched at AIT. Many of AIT’s alumni are holding key positions at UD and its member universities. We do hope that with the MOU signing ceremony today, the close relationship between UD and AIT will be established and developed in the near future, especially within the framework of project 89 so as to strengthen the research partnership and increase the number of doctoral graduates. I find that project 89 is very potential and suitable for two sides to realize the MOU” shared Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Ngoc Vu.

At the Ceremony, Dr. Eden Woon- President of AIT expressed his pleasure and honor to have a great chance to sign MOU with UD. President Eden Woon highly appreciated the role and prestige of UD as well as the significance of the cooperation relationship between the two sides. This relationship would contribute to promote the education and science development among countries in the Asian region.

According to the MoU, UD and AIT would focus on promoting comprehensive cooperation: (1)Building and implementing post-graduate training programs, granting degrees and certificates of AIT to learners; (2) Receiving and supporting candidates of doctoral training program under the Project 89 of Vietnamese government; (3) Developing lecturers and students mobility programs ; (4) Organizing scientific seminars and conferences; (5) Participating in international projects and joint research; (6) Exchanging information, scientific publications and research results…

The MoU signing between UD and AIT continued to affirm the international role and position of UD, thereby closely connecting with prestigious universities, institutes and educational organizations, making positive contributions in the process of worldwide higher education integration.
