As part of a series of activities to celebrate the 50^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationships between Vietnam and Japan, the University of Danang (UD) coordinated with Morikosan Joint Stock Company (Japan) to organize “The connection between Vietnamese and Japanese Universities /Enterprises” on July 13, 2023 at UD.

Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son-Vice President of UD; Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam-former President of UD, Chairman of Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association in Da Nang city; Dr. Cao Tri Dung-Chairman of Danang Tourism Association; Mr. Mori Hayato-Director of Morikosan Company; senior representatives: Japanese educational institutions: Konan University; Anabuki Academy; Wakayama Computer Business College; 13 Japanese enterprises in the fields of human resource development, logistics, transportation, auto mechanics, information technology, healthcare, nursing, beauty technology, retail supermarket business, entertainment such as: Holonics Corporation, Nozomi Corporation, Kominami Corporation, Laser Tech, Takahata, Kibi, Five, V-Stainless, Cloud Beauty, Tomizuya, Iseikai Medical Company, Sakai Transportation Company...

Besides, there were also leaders of UD’s member universities, affiliated units, Administrative office and relevant functional departments.

Vice President Le Quang Son delivered the opening remark

Vice President Le Quang Son briefly introduced the overview of UD and UD’ member universities and affiliated units. Up to now, UD had established cooperative relationships with more than 50 partners that are Japanese universities, enterprises and associations through many long-term and effective cooperation. The entire system from regional university level to member universities and affiliated units focused on continuously deepening cooperation with Japanese enterprises.

“In order to realize the goals, UD has always focused on promoting international cooperation, always considering Japanese universities and enterprises as the top important partners. Up to now, UD has established cooperative relationships with more than 50 partners from Japan with many long-term and effective cooperation" (including many prestigious companies in cooperation with UD as well as UD’s member universities such as: Fujikin, JFE Steel, SMC, Sun Frontier, Fulltime System, Jesco Asia, Morikosan, Mikazuki.... Especially, the Keidairen (Japan Business Federation) and JCCI have deployed the scholarship awarding program for UD students over the past 22 years” shared Vice President Le Quang Son.

“The projects between UD and Japanese universities and enterprises make an important contribution to promote the realization of goals and strategies so that UD is worthy of being a center for training, research and innovation” emphasized Vice President Le Quang Son.

At this event, the senior representatives of UD proposed a number of ideas and solutions to further promote the cooperation relationship, expand and strengthen the university-enterprise cooperation network, and realize the  agreements by  in-depth,  practical and effective cooperative programs in many fields in line with the mutual e needs and interests of the parties, contributing to cultivate the tradition of friendship and partnership of Vietnam and Japan.

Mr. Mori Hayato-Director of Morikosan Company said that he highly appreciated the prestige and reputation of UD- a leading partner in training and supplying human resources. This was an urgent need for Japanese enterprises in the cooperation investment, especially in Da Nang city, a dynamic and developing central region.

Representative of Japanese enterprises expressed that from this event, the university-enterprise cooperation would be improved to support and create more opportunities for UD’s students to do internship and study abroad in Japan, as well as contribute to cultivate a friendly cooperation tradition between Vietnam and Japan.

Awarding scholarships for UD’s students

Within the framework of the orientation session, the delegates continued to discuss solutions, experiences, and comments from leaders of UD’s member universities. On this occasion, Japanese enterprises also awarded 05 scholarships (3 million VND/student) to UD’s students.

On the same day, Japanese enterprises and educational training institutions also visited and worked with UD's member universities such as UD-University of Science and Technology, UD-University of Foreign Language Studies ​​and UD- School of Medicine and Pharmacy.

In 2022, UD signed and implemented a cooperation agreement with Morikosan Company, Japan, focusing on skills training, receiving internship students, and introducing jobs for students after graduation. Morikosan Company is an enterprise having a connection network with Japanese enterprises and educational institutions in many suitable fields.
