The University of Danang signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Queensland, Australia

On November 10, 2021, Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son and his counterpart of the University of Queensland (UQ) Rongyu Li co-chaired the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between the two sides.

The ceremony was held virtually.
On the UQ side, there were leader representatives of faculties including Prof. Susan Rowland (Deputy Associate Dean of Faculty of Science), Prof. Alexsandar Rakic (Associate Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology), Prof. Daniel Zizzo (Academic Dean and Head of School of Economics, Faculty of Business, Economics and Law), Prof. Rodney Strachan (School of Economics, Faculty of Business, Economics and Law), Mr. Michael Holder (Acting Director of Global Engagement).
On the UD side, the ceremony drew the attendance of leader representatives of functional departments (Academic Affairs; Science, Technology and Environment; International Cooperation) and member universities/affiliated units (University of Science and Technology, University of Economics, University of Foreign Language Studies, VNUK Institute for Research and Executive Education).

Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the UD, acknowledged and appreciated the good cooperation relationship between the two universities over the past 20 years. Also, he expressed the sincere gratitude to the UQ for providing many postgraduate scholarships to the UD’s academic staff, implementing English training courses for the UD’s lecturers and students; coordinating to organize scientific workshops and cultural exchanges, etc.
The UD’s Vice President Le Quang Son shared that the UD is being significantly invested by the Vietnamese government and international institutions to be one of three leading universities in Vietnam which has international prestige and position. Therefore, the cooperation agreement signing between the two universities in the new period is very important and expected to bring about mutual values and benefits.

On the UQ side.
The UQ’s Vice President and Deputy Vice Chancellor Rongyu Li expressed his joy and appreciated the significance and effectiveness of the close cooperation relationship between the UD and the UQ over the past many years, at the same time stressed that this ceremony would serve as a landmark in the bilateral partnership which is based on the trust and long-term cooperation for sustainable development.

According to the newly-signed agreement, the two universities will continue to promote the cooperation in training and scientific research, exchange of lecturers and students, implementation of joint training programs, organization of short-term courses and international seminars/workshops, etc.

Leaders of the two sides agreed to assign member universities/faculties to carry out specific cooperation activities within the framework of the MOU. The UQ leader shared his intention to visit and work with the UD in the nearest time when the Covid-19 pandemic is controlled globally.
