On April 9, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) chaired a meeting and worked with the delegation of Yaroslavl State Medical University, Russia (YSMU) led by Prof.  Khokhlov Alexander Leonidovich -Rector of YSMU. Also attending the meeting were Ms. Mizonova Maria Georgievna, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Da Nang; Mr. Keshenkov Victor Mikhailovich, General Director of Sovitcom Company Limited; senior representatives of relevant departments and centers of UD (Science and International Cooperation, Student Affairs, The Center for Learning Information Resources & Communication); senior representative of UD- School of Medicine and Pharmacy; Head of the Office of Science and International Cooperation and Dean of the Russian Faculty of UD - University of Foreign Language Studies.

At the meeting, UD’s Vice President Le Quang Son introduced the overview and highlights of UD, including UD - School of Medicine and Pharmacy- one of UD’s affiliated units - is training high-quality human resources in General Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing.

Representatives of the two sides signed the MOU.

Highly appreciating the cooperative relationship between UD and Russian partners, including the support as a "bridge" of the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Da Nang, senior representatives of UD expressed their desire to share needs and strengths to promote cooperation, creating opportunities for UD's lecturers and students to receive training and research scholarships in the Russian Federation. At the same time, there would be more international students from YSMU as well as Russian universities come to exchange, study and research at UD, especially in the fields of medicine, pharmacy, engineering and technology, Russian language and culture.

Prof. Khokhlov Alexander Leonidovich – YSMU Rector expressed his pleasure to visit and work with UD located at Da Nang city, the beautiful coastal city of Vietnam.

Representatives of YSMU shared their ideas on lecturer and student exchange opportunities, sending UD’s students to study in the Russian Federation to strengthen cohesion, cultural exchange, and friendship between the two countries.

Based on the orientations agreed upon by the leaders of both sides, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – UD’s Vice President and Prof. Khokhlov Alexander Leonidovich – YSMU’s Rector signed a Cooperation Agreement with key contents:  Co-developing international training in fields related to General Medicine and Pharmacy; Co-joining research focusing on effective treatment methods and exchange experiences in the fields of medicine and pharmacy.

The two sides aimed to establish a Medical Center which adapted to the needs and strengths of each side; Enhance the exchange of experts, lecturers and students in training, scientific research and educational quality assurance.
