Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) welcomed and worked with the World Bank Group in Vietnam (WB) led by Mr. Dilip Parajuli - Head of the WB's senior expert group on education economics and Ms. Vo Kieu Dung - Senior expert of the World Bank on Education, leader of the cooperation group.

Attending the meeting were members of the WB Delegation: Ms. Bui Minh Hanh - Operation Consultant, Ms. Dao Thi Thuy Dung - Portfolio Manager, Mr. Tran Khac Duong - Construction Consultant; On the side of UD, there were the attendance of the Director of Administration Department, representatives of functional departments: Planning and Finance, International Cooperation and Facilities Management.

At the meeting, the representatives of UD gave a report to the WB Delegation on the implementation results and progress related project, which detailed the needs and costs of investment, construction and installation the equipment for UD’s member universities and member units according to the tasks and planning of the project. UD stated clearly the investment requirements for such items as: Operation center, High-Tech park, National Defense Education Area and technical infrastructure works, equipments for scientific research and technology transfer. In addition, UD has the need to invest in technical equipment and technology to support the strategy of renovating the training programs and applying digital technologies in management, training and scientific research suitable with the requirements of development strategy and investment capital.

The WB Delegation exchanged and raised key project preparation issues for the two sides to discuss and propose solutions and orientations to solve difficulties, shortcomings, to share contents and require clarification such as: Data collection relating to investment and investment costs;  Feasibility and method of implementation; Evaluating the effectiveness, financial analysis for the requirements and items of the project, etc. The two sides shared and agreed views to identify the criteria in accordance with technical, economic of the WB's finance which aims to best meet the requirements of the project to continue improving the quality of training and scientific research in the new period.

Representatives of the functional departments of UD have reported, explained fully, in detail, with grounds and met the World Bank's requirements for the investment contents, especially for the items: High-Tech park and supporting infrastructure for digital technology application, high-power computing center, centralized data storage center applying technology 4.0, etc. There were also testing facilities requiring investment in modern equipment for 04 key training disciplines (bio-renewable technology and environment; mechatronics; biomedical life science; digital).

UD affirmed that it would continue to work with relevant units on consultancy and construction to continue to complete all appendices and investment details to send to the WB on time and as required. At the meeting, on behalf of UD, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son highly appreciated the effective support and kind coordination of WB specialists and pledged to make the best of the necessary requirements, in collaboration with stakeholders to promote the project implementation progress. The representatives of WB noted, highly appreciated the results and efforts of UD, and reaffirmed that the WB will continue to connect and work with ministries, branches and localities to support UD during the process of project implementation.
