From April 14 to 17, 2026, leaders of the University of Danang (UD) and rectors of its member universities actively participated in the Vietnam–China Forum on Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation. On this occasion, UD signed cooperation agreements with several prestigious universities, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Beijing University of Technology, School of Management and Economics, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Capital Normal University (China).

The forum took place as part of the official visit to China by a high-level delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam led by General Secretary and President To Lam. Among the highlights of the visit was the higher education, science, technology and innovation cooperation event hosted at Tsinghua University, creating an important platform for dialogue and strengthening collaboration for sustainable development.

At the forum, UD representatives engaged in discussions and exchanged cooperation documents with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, outlining a comprehensive collaboration framework in areas such as developing high-quality academic programs in strategic fields (including artificial intelligence, semiconductor microchips, advanced materials and new energy, biotechnology, and financial technology); faculty and student exchanges; joint supervision of doctoral candidates; academic exchange and collaborative research; as well as innovation in governance, teaching methods, and knowledge and technology transfer.

On this occasion, rectors of UD’s member universities also met with partners and signed cooperation agreements:

UD - University of Economics  signed an agreement with School of Management and Economics, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, focusing on cooperation in finance/financial technology, innovation, international business, marketing management, logistics, and supply chain management.

UD - University of Science and Education signed a partnership with Beijing University of Technology to develop articulated programs from undergraduate to master’s and doctoral levels, as well as joint supervision of doctoral candidates conducting research projects under the guidance of experts from both institutions to enhance training and research quality.

UD - University of Foreign Language Studies signed an agreement with Capital Normal University, focusing on faculty and student exchanges, joint research activities, and co-organization of international conferences in the coming period.

The event marks an important milestone, highlighting the proactive and dynamic role of UD and its member universities in Vietnam’s higher education system. It also strengthens international integration and cooperation while opening up new prospects for development in the country’s next stage of growth.
