UD-DUE signs cooperation agreement with the University of Palermo (Italy)

On January 23, 2026, the University of Danang - University of Economics (UD-DUE) held a working session and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Palermo (Italy).

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, Vice Rector of UD-DUE, in the context of international integration and higher education internationalization, the University consistently prioritizes expanding its cooperation with universities worldwide. Among these, the University of Palermo (Italy) is recognized as a reputable partner in Europe.
This marks a new milestone, opening up many opportunities for both parties to strengthen cooperation and contribute to enhancing international integration capacity for lecturers and students, while creating a collaborative environment for education and research as well as academic exchange.

Representing the University of Palermo (Italy), Prof. Carmine Bianchi expressed that through this partnership, both institutions would gain further opportunities to generate practical value and leverage their respective potential and strengths amid globalization and the East–West academic interchange.
Under the signed MOU, the two parties agreed to implement key cooperation activities, including: enhancing exchanges of lecturers, researchers, and students; developing joint projects in research and education; coordinating the organization of and participation in international scientific events and conferences; collaborating on scientific publications; and sharing academic resources and research experience.
Representatives of both universities also emphasized that the agreed orientations would be further translated into specific plans with clear objectives and an implementation roadmap, contributing to improving the quality of education and scientific research, and meeting the requirements of international integration in higher education.

On the same day, Prof. Carmine Bianchi delivered an academic seminar titled “Boosting social innovation through dynamic collaborative ecosystem platforms for holistic, place-based value creation” to lecturers and students of UD-DUE. The seminar covered:
- Governing “super-complex” issues: modern societal challenges characterized by “super-complexity”;
- The importance of place-based community value co-creation;
- Coordination and place-based collaborative ecosystem platforms;
- Principles for successful social innovation.
