UD-DUT deepens partnership with KP Aero Industries to advance talent development and R&D

06/08/2026

The University of Danang - University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT) has solidified its strategic partnership with KP Aero Industries by signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) during a recent working visit to the company's headquarters and Korean Air facilities in Busan, South Korea.

The agreement marks a new milestone in the long-standing collaboration between the university and the aerospace sector, focusing on cultivating top-tier engineering talent, driving research and development (R&D), and fostering innovation in strategic technical disciplines.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Hieu, Rector of UD-DUT, the agreement builds upon the successful foundation laid in 2023, during which the university supported KP Aero Industries in establishing its investment operations at the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park.

Since then, both parties have worked closely to offer internships and career pathways for UD-DUT students, addressing the surging demand for highly qualified engineers in advanced manufacturing and aerospace.

Representatives from KP Aero Industries highlighted that many of their current engineers are UD-DUT alumni, particularly graduates of the Aerospace Mechanical Engineering program. They commended the alumni for their strong technical expertise, professional work ethic, and ability to meet the rigorous demands of high-precision manufacturing, including the assembly of Boeing aircraft wing-tip components.

This renewed partnership underscores UD-DUT’s pivotal role in bridging academia and industry, as well as attracting key global partners—such as KP Aero Industries, KP Aerospace, and Korean Air—to advance education, research, and innovation.

Under the new MoA, both sides will expand collaboration on industry-oriented academic programs aligned with emerging technologies and modern manufacturing. Priority fields include Aerospace Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technologies, and other key engineering disciplines.

The agreement also paves the way for joint research projects through the development of state-of-the-art laboratories, technology transfer initiatives, and international-standard research facilities backed by industry expertise.

This reinforced alliance demonstrates the shared commitment of UD-DUT and KP Aero Industries to building a sustainable university–industry ecosystem. It is expected to significantly boost the development of high-tech engineering talent, enhancing the global competitiveness of Da Nang and Central Vietnam as hubs for advanced manufacturing.
