UD-UFLS hosted "International Chinese Language Day 2026: Illuminating Colorful Dreams"

On April 24, 2026, The University of Danang - University of Foreign Language Studies (UD-UFLS) organized the "International Chinese Language Day 2026" program, themed "Illuminating Colorful Dreams."

The event was attended by distinguished guests, including: Ms. Dong Bidu, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Da Nang; Representatives from the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations; Representatives from the Department of Student Affairs, Corporate Relations, and Communication of UD; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Long, Rector of the University, along with representatives from various departments, faculties, lecturers, and a large number of students from local universities offering Chinese language programs.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Long, Rector of the University, building on the success of previous International Chinese Language Day events, this year's theme, "Illuminating Colorful Dreams," holds significant meaning. It not only contributes to spreading and inspiring the study, research, and exchange of Chinese language and culture among students and the community but also serves to build bridges of friendship and people-to-people diplomacy. Furthermore, it aims to foster mutual understanding and strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Expressing sincere gratitude to the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Da Nang for partnering with the University to organize the program, Rector Nguyen Van Long stated that UD-UFLS is currently providing training for over 800 students in Chinese Language and Chinese Language Pedagogy. This represents a young, skilled workforce, meeting the demands of enterprises across sectors such as commerce, tourism, interpretation, and Chinese language education within the city, the Central region, and nationwide.

According to Ms. Dong Bidu, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Da Nang, the Chinese language possesses a rich, long-standing historical tradition and embodies significant cultural and historical values.

Highly commending the reputation of UD-UFLS, as well as the deepening development of Chinese language teaching, learning, and usage among students and the wider community, the Consul General expressed her hope for an increasing number of meaningful activities. These initiatives would create opportunities for those who love Chinese language and culture to connect, network, and enhance their proficiency for both daily life and professional careers.

At the festival, competing teams from various universities and faculties offering Chinese language programs enthusiastically participated in competitions such as Chinese calligraphy and Chinese dubbing, alongside hands-on experiences like calligraphy writing, mask painting, and wearing traditional Hanfu.

By serving as a thoughtful and professional host, UD-UFLS not only fosters a cultural and linguistic space that inspires students but also vividly affirms its position as a premier hub for international events and programs.
