On July 24, 2025, at Furama Resort Danang, the University of Danang (UD) hosted the 2nd International Conference on Health Science and Technology (ICHST-2025). The event is co-organized with Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), the University of Connecticut (USA), and the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts Global (AVSE Global).

The conference brought together leading scientists from world-renowned universities, including Harvard University, Columbia University, the University of Sydney, Peking University, the National University of Singapore, and Nanyang Technological University.

Prominent figures attending the conference include Prof. Thanh Nguyen  - University of Connecticut; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the UD; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang - President of HUST; and Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of the UD, alongside city officials and academic leaders.

Nearly 150 delegates - including scientists, experts, entrepreneurs, and university leaders from the USA, China, Australia, Singapore, and Vietnam participated. 06 partner organizations also exhibited advanced products and technologies in the field.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son welcomed participants to Danang, a city celebrated as a "must-visit, livable city" and a premier destination for international events. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son highlighted, UD's commitment to integrating education with scientific innovation and international cooperation to address societal needs.

As a leading research institution with a 50-year tradition, the UD is receiving significant government investment to be developed into a National University, guided by key national policies.

With a strategic vision toward 2045, UD is focused on breakthroughs in digital transformation and has built a network of over 300 international partners. Recently, U.S. News & World Report ranked the University of Danang among the “Best Global Universities 2025-2026.”

By hosting ICHST-2025, UD and its partners aimed to create a dynamic forum to bridge science, technology, and healthcare, applying advanced knowledge to address global challenges. 

The plenary session is featured presentations from 02 plenary speakers:

1- Prof. Samir Mitragotri (Harvard University) on “A Hitchhiker's and Backpacker's Approach to Drug Delivery.”

2- Prof. Kam W. Leong (Columbia University) on “Multiscale Therapeutic Biomaterials for Inflammatory and Regenerative Applications.”

Keynote presentations are delivered by Prof. Yadong Wang (Cornell University), Prof. Thanh Nguyen (University of Connecticut), Prof. Xuliang Deng (Peking University), and Prof. Hala Zreiqat (University of Sydney).

04 parallel sessions will cover high-impact topics including: 1- Biosensors and Medical Devices; 2- Biomaterials and Drug Delivery; 3- Biological Sciences and Medicine; 4- AI and Data Science in Healthcare. 

The conference has accepted 105 papers from 16 countries, with selected works to be published in the IEEE Xplore® digital library.

The conference is a key initiative born from the partnership between AVSE Global, UD, and other institutions. It serves not only as a platform for sharing new research but also as a bridge for collaborating on practical solutions that enhance global health and well-being, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong - President of AVSE Global stated.
