University of Economics – The University of Danang successfully organized the International Conference on Management and Business (COMB-2021): Strengthening governance capacity to proactively adapt to the Covid-19 pandemic

On November 26, University of Economic – The University of Danang (UD) successfully organized the International Conference on Management and Business (COMB-2021) which attracted nearly 100 researchers, experts, and lecturers from many universities and research institutions in the country and abroad (United Kingdom, Belgium, Thailand...)
Overview of the conference.
The conference was jointly organized by many prestigious universities including: Heriot-Watt University (United Kingdom), University of Liège (Belgium), Mahasarakham University (Thailand), University of Commerce, Quy Nhon University, Nha Trang University (Vietnam).
COMB-2021 was held in-person mode in combination with online technology platforms, which provided opportunities for researchers, policymakers, experts, entrepreneurs to share knowledge, publish research results and discuss, promote ideas, models and solutions to strengthen governance capacity for business and the community, thereby proactively adapting to the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and the 4th Industrial Revolution.
The conference attracted many renowned participants.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh – Vice Rector of University of Economics – UD warmly welcomed and thanked the organizing partners as well as researchers, managers, experts, entrepreneurs in many fields to attend, contribute efforts to solve many “hot” issues of scientific and practical significance, thereby helping businesses develop the management capacity associated with innovation and creativity in digital transformation.
At the plenary session of the conference, participants listened to the scientific reports of Prof. Dr. Babak Taheri (Heriot-Watt University, UK) and Prof. Dr. Mario Cools (University of Liège, Belgium) who are prestigious academics in the field of business administration. Then, the conference deployed six sessions including: Digital-Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Management-Strategy, COVID – SCM & Tourism, Startup.
With 43 reports and scientific articles, the conference focused on discussing and proposing many topical issues and solutions such as: Analysis, identification of opportunities, challenges of the digital environment and the impact of the 4th Industrial Revolution on management, production and business activities of Vietnamese enterprises; Assessing the impact and solutions for Vietnamese businesses to overcome the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic; New management models and theories, digital transformation applications for Vietnamese enterprises; etc.
