Recently, University of Foreign Language Studies (UFLS) – The University of Danang (UD) successfully organized the students’ scientific research conference in 2021 which attracted 247 students with 145 topics.

Rector of UFLS-UD Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc chaired the online conference.

Due to the Covid-19 prevention regulations, the conference was held online via Microsoft Teams with more than 400 participants under the chairmanship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc – Rector of UFLS-UD.

In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc affirmed the significance and importance of students’ scientific research activities which have contributed to improving the quality of training, research and reputation of the university.

This conference was a useful and practical activity to help students cultivate their capacity for active learning, scientific research and creative thinking, critical mindset, teamwork, problem-solving skills, etc.

Rector Tran Huu Phuc acknowledged and highly appreciated the active participation of lecturers and students from faculties and divisions, considering this an opportunity for students “to show their intellect, creative thinking and passion in learning and research which is also one of the most effective self-study methods”.

Speaking at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son – Vice President of the UD, highly evaluated the efforts of UFLS-UD, at the same time praised and motivated the spirit of the university’s lecturers and students in overcoming the difficult situation of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Student groups have reported, defended their topics and received feedbacks from the scientific councils of 15 sub-committees on language, pedagogy, literature, culture and society, tourism, translation, international studies, etc.

The conference attracted a large number of lecturers and students.

With the result of 15 first prizes, 30 second prizes, 45 third prizes and 55 consolation prizes, the conference was a great success. It continued to serve as a traditional activity which aims to spread the passion for scientific research among students, affirms the university’s prestige and academic performance, contributes to realizing the goals of becoming a leading research-oriented university in the group of Vietnam’s foreign languages-specialized universities.
