“Develop UD into a common home to give a chance for staff and lecturers to dedicate and improve themselves”

 

 

In the atmosphere of joy and excitement at the beginning of the new year, the University of Danang (UD) solemnly held a meeting to honor the new Associate Professors and Doctors of Philosophy as well as welcomed the new year 2022.

Attending the meeting were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – Member of Danang Party Committee cum Secretary of UD’s Party Committee cum President of UD; Prof. Dr. Sc. Bui Van Ga - Former Deputy Minister of Ministry of Education and Training cum UD’s Former President; Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam – UD’s Former President; leaders of UD’s Party Committee, UD’s Council, UD’s Presidential board, Rectorate boards of UD’s member universities, School Councils of UD’s member universities, Directors of affiliated units, representatives of offices and centers, new Associate Professors and Doctors of UD in 2021.

At the meeting, President Nguyen Ngoc Vu gave a New Year's greetings to all staff, lecturers and students at the first working day of new year 2022.

 “With all a spirit of humility, we can still be proud of outstanding results achieved in the past year, which are important luggages to confidently come to 2022 with faith and hope for a good future. In the context that the Covid-19 pandemic is still complicated along with the general difficulties and competition of the economy and higher education, UD is being in the process of implementing the ODA loan project of the World Bank with 100 million USD. This is truly a great opportunity, but there are also many difficulties and challenges requiring us to try our best and make proactive efforts to continue developing to new heights..." shared President Nguyen Ngoc Vu.

UD President Nguyen Ngoc Vu also expressed his desire to ask UD’s member universities and affiliated units to thoroughly grasp the spirit of "rejoicing in the new spring without forgetting new tasks", focusing on a number of key tasks as follows:

(1) Proactively organize to study directly at schools according to an appropriate planning, ensuring to flexibly and safely adapt to control the Covid-19 epidemic according to the policy of the Government, Ministry of Education and Training and Da Nang city;

 (2) Continue to improve the personnel organization. This is a key task determining the success of UD, therefore reviewing the planning, implementing the cadre’s appointment process in accordance with regulations and choosing a conscientious leader attaches a special importance;

(3) Promote the proactive and drastic spirit in building and immediately implementing the 2022 Planning, focusing on key tasks such as: the enrollment plan 2022, the enhance of training quality, the improvement of scientific research and international cooperation;

 (4) Continue to innovate the higher education governance associated with digital transformation. This is an urgent task and an objective requirement in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. If we do not drastically implement this mission, there is a risk of being left behind;

(5)  Concentrate all resources to effectively carry out the ODA project, realize the aspiration to develop UD into one of the three Vietnamese National Universities in the future, ensuring the principles and disbursement progress at the request of the World Bank;

(6) “Promote the tradition of solidarity, build a working environment of Solidarity-Democracy-Discipline-Humanity and become a common home where all cadres find their positions and opportunities to strive, dedicate and develop”. That is also the President’s message at the beginning of 2022.

At the meeting, UD honored and congratulated 03 Associate Professors, 46 new Doctors of UD graduated from various prestigious universities in United Kingdom, French Republic, Japan, Australia, Canada, Russian Federation, Korea...

Representative of 46 new Doctors gave special thanks for the attention and support of UD’s leaders, and expressed their determination to continue striving in professional development activities, teaching and scientific research, making positive contributions to the development of UD
