Groundbreaking ceremony held for 5 projects worth nearly 1.08 trillion VND to develop the University of Danang

On the morning of January 28th, 2026, the University of Danang (UD) held a groundbreaking ceremony for projects under Sub-project 1 - Construction of technical infrastructure and essential facilities for UD in Hoa Quy - Dien Ngoc.

Sub-project 1 - Construction of technical infrastructure and essential facilities for UD in Hoa Quy - Dien Ngoc is a Group A project with a total investment of over VND 2,760 billion. 

The Prime Minister approved the investment plan using a mixed funding source, including a loan from the World Bank's International Development Agency (IDA) of USD 98 million (over VND 2,000 billion) and domestic counterpart funding of nearly USD 20 million (over VND 500 billion); of which 90% is allocated from the central budget, and UD borrows and contributes the remaining 10%.

Sub-project 1 will be implemented during the period from 2021 to 2027. Within the framework of Sub-project 1, UD held a groundbreaking ceremony for 5 important projects, with a total contract value of nearly 1,080 billion VND.

These include the following components: UD Center; the laboratory building, lecture halls, and internal landscape of UD-University of Technology and Education; the lecture hall building and internal landscape of University of Foreign Language Studies-UD; the administrative building, lecture halls, and internal landscape of UD-Vietnam-UK International University; and the building, cafeteria, dormitory, and internal landscape of UD-Center for National Defense –Security Education and Sports.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of UD affirmed that this project is of particularly important significance in the strategy of developing UD into a high-quality training and scientific research center for the Central and Central Highlands regions and the whole country.

UD is committed to closely supervising and coordinating with the World Bank, ministries, departments, local authorities, consulting firms, and contractors to ensure the project is implemented smoothly, in accordance with regulations, and completed as soon as possible, for effective operation and use.
