International Academic Exchange: Catching Up with High-Tech Development Trends

In recent time, member universities of UD have actively promoted international academic exchange activities. A prime example is the University of Danang - University of Science and Technology (UD - DUT), which has created opportunities for faculty members and students from the Faculty of Electronics and Artificial Intelligence to learn from international experiences, aiming to stay ahead of and keep pace with development trends in high-tech industries and fields.
Recently, a student team from the Faculty of Electronics and Artificial Intelligence at UD - DUT participated in the Taiwan Micromouse & Intelligent Robot Contest (TMIRC - 2026) in Taiwan, China.

This is the third time students from UD - DUT have participated in TMIRC, a regional and international academic playground in advanced technology that brings together universities from Japan, Singapore, Taiwan (China), Thailand, and Vietnam.
The competition categories cover high-tech fields that require students to master knowledge and technology application skills, including Classical Micromouse, Half-size, Speedy Mobile Robot, and Line Maze Robot, alongside algorithms, programming, microprocessor engineering, and microcontrollers.

According to Le Van Lai (Class 25KTMT1), a team member, this is a precious opportunity not only for students to exchange and learn from leading educational, scientific, and technological hubs in Asia, but also to temper their courage and innovative thinking, thereby spreading the reputation and academic prestige of both the university and UD to international friends.
"The experience gained from participating in the competition such as optimal sensor layout, motor control, or the application of hardware structures in advanced devices has helped us broaden our horizons, enhance our technological mindset, and accumulate practical preparation. This gives us more confidence on our journey to conquer knowledge and achieve international integration," shared Thai Viet Dai (Class 23KTMT2).

Alongside professional guidance and accompanying the team, Dr. Dao Duy Tuan, a lecturer from the Faculty of Electronics and Artificial Intelligence at UD-DUT, also had the opportunity to undertake a two-month exchange and study period at Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) in Taiwan (China). There, he engaged in in-depth professional exchanges with scientists and core research groups on scientific topics such as resource allocation and reliability enhancement in communication networks.

Through experiencing modern equipment in international-standard semiconductor microchip laboratories at MCUT, the lecturer gained valuable practical insights to apply toward meeting the development demands of emerging technology sectors.
Additionally, thanks to the connections and partnerships facilitated by UD-DUT, students from the Faculty of Electronics and Artificial Intelligence were able to participate in the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP) at the AI-Chip Laboratory of Chang Gung University, undertaking professional internships and scientific research in the fields of electronics, artificial intelligence, and semiconductor microchip technology.

The presence of the faculty members and students from UD-DUT serves as an additional bridge to promote cooperation in education, research, and academic exchange. This ultimately fosters joint research outputs published internationally, as well as science and technology products designed and manufactured through this journey of faculty and student mobility.
