Creating conditions for international students to have more opportunities to exchange, learn and experience have been being a focus of international cooperation and integration strategy of the University of Danang (UD) in recent years.

 for 108 Laos students to study Vietnamese language preparation

At the end of April, the University of Danang - University of Science and Education (UD-UED) organized a tour for 108 Laos students studying the Vietnamese Preparatory Program of the university to visit and learn about historical and cultural relics in the area of Da Nang city and Quang Nam province.

International students were explained at the Da Nang Museum

According to Dr. Nguyen Van Sang - Deputy Head of UD-UED's Department of Science and International Cooperation, this was an extra-curricular module that creates opportunities for international students to experience and immerse themselves in  local culture, thereby practicing Vietnamese language in realistic environment.

International students learned about the Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village

During this trip, UD-UED organized for international students to visit the Marble Mountains, the Museum of Memories of Stone Sculpture, the Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village, and the highlight was to visit the My Son Sanctuary (Duy Xuyen, Quang Nam) was honored by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage.

International student Phommachak Sonexay (from Chammasack province) excitedly shared that he really enjoyed field trips like this because thanks to that, he learned many new things about the culture and history of Vietnam. Through activities of the journey program, it also created opportunities for students to exchange and practice Vietnamese more confidently.

Norwegian students were organized by the University of Danang – VN-UK Institute for research and Executive Education to visit the Da Nang Museum

“The practical experience left us with many interesting memories with our friends and teachers. I will definitely introduce to my family and friends the places I went to on this trip", international student Thatsany Phommasy (from Vientiane capital) expressed.

Experiencing cuisine and interacting with people

Through communicating with local people, reading and understanding information boards at tourist attractions, and listening to instructions from lecturers and tour guides, international students can hone their Vietnamese language skills. In particular, students would also be introduced to and enjoy local traditional dishes.

Unforgettable memories of campfire night

The University of Danang – VN-UK Institute for research and Executive Education (UD-VNUK) also recently organized the Program to Learn about Vietnamese culture and economic development (Kulturstudier) for 38 Norwegian students and UD-VNUK students.

Visiting Hoa Tho Textile and Garment Joint Stock Corporation

With the companionship of the Kulturstudier Organization from Oslomet (Norway), international students and UD-VNUK students, including 06 UD-VNUK Students Ambassadors, experienced 10 weeks of studying, learning, exchanging, and having useful practical experiences at destinations of Da Nang city and the world cultural heritage Hoi An ancient town.

Besides academic lectures, students had practical access through new local itineraries such as: Da Nang Museum; Co Tu - Bho Hoong Village in Quang Nam; Hoa Tho Textile and Garment Joint Stock Corporation…

Come to UD to experience learning about culture and language

Emil, a Norwegian student shared that he feels loved and close to Vietnam's indigenous culture with its gentle and hospitable people; many unique and new customs, especially the beautiful scenery and experiencing the summer heat different from his native Norway. Hopefully there will be more international friends coming to UD to have these interesting experience opportunities.
