Leaders of the University of Danang attended the UUKi Asia Network Meeting

The meeting gathered educational staff in the UK and Asian countries (India, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, etc.). It is a forum for representatives of higher education institutions to exchange areas of international cooperation, connect and find opportunities with new partners. 

At the meeting, delegates heard speeches from Mr. Tim Steele, Pro Vice-Chancellor  for International and Regional Development of the University of Wolverhampton (former Committee Chair Asia Network of UKKi), and Professor Amelia Hadfield, Dean of the Department of Politics – University of Surrey (new Chair of Asia Network of UUKi), on the main areas of the collaboration between the UK and Asian universities. As an association representing about 140 universities in the UK, Universities UK actively supports and promotes the international activities of its members globally, especially in Asia – a rapidly growing region. 

Also at the meeting, representatives of universities in the UK and Asia shared experiences and typical cooperation models such as: Telangana project in India (presentation of Universities Wales), 1+2+1 student exchange program between China and the UK (presentation of China International Education Exchange Center). UK - Singapore universities alliance in entrepreneurship and innovation (presentation of Coventry University in Singapore), etc. 

For his part, the UD Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son gave a presentation on "Educational opportunities in Da Nang city (Vietnam)", which introduced the strengths of the UD as well as the development in international cooperation in general, with UK partners in particular.

The UD Vice President also introduced English-language training programs at the UD, especially training programs at the Vietnam - UK Institure for Research and Executive Education (VNUK) - UD to attract international students through the “Turing scheme” program.

The presentation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son had received a lot of attention from international partners, thereby showing the potential for international cooperation of UD in the coming time.
