On May 23, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – President of the University of Danang (UD), chaired the meeting with Mr. Mori Takero – new Consul General of Japan in Danang.

Also attending were representatives from the UD’s Office of Administrative Affairs, functional departments (Science and International Cooperation, Student Affairs), Japan Center.

At the reception, President Nguyen Ngoc Vu shared his honor to welcome the new Consul General of Japan in Danang and congratulated Mr. Mori Takero on his new position.

The UD’s President introduced the general and outstanding features of the UD as a key regional, multi-disciplinary university with many member universities, institutes, schools, branch; one of the three largest training and scientific research centers in the country; with a scale of about 2,600 staff, lecturers and 60,000 students.

In its development strategy, the UD always focuses on developing international cooperation, in which Japan is one of the most reliable partners that the UD highly appreciates and wishes to promote cooperation.

Many staff members of the UD who were trained and developed their expertise in Japan have been holding key positions in the UD, actively contributing to the development of the UD in general, its member universities, affiliated units in particular.

The UD’s President highly appreciates the hard-working and creative spirit of Japanese people, and wishes to continue to promote cooperation with Japanese universities and enterprises, focusing on promoting the exchange of lecturers and students, joint research projects, etc.

The UD established the Japan Center as a testament of cooperation with Japanese partners. The UD’s President hopes that the new Consul General of Japan in Danang will support and work as a bridge to connect the UD with more Japanese partners in the coming time.

For his part, Mr. Mori Takero expressed his honor to visit and work with the UD, sincerely thanked the UD’s President for taking the time to warmly welcome him. Mr. Takero said that the Japanese Consulate General in Danang always values the UD as an important partner.

Sharing the joy that the UD has many officials, lecturers who have been trained in Japan, the Consul General highly appreciated the UD for establishing a specialized unit – Japan Center, considering this a favorable condition for the two sides to continue to deepen and effectively expand long-term and close cooperative relations.
