On 12 August, 2024, at the University of Danang (UD), President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu chaired a meeting and signed a cooperation agreement with Prof. Nguyen Duc Khuong – Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE) Global, Executive Director of EMLV Business School, International Development Director of De Vinci Higher Education Group.

Also attending were Dr. Dinh Thanh Huong – Director of Knowledge and Projects of AVSE Global & CFO of BNP Paribas Bank (France), Dr. Quy Vo-Reinhard – CEO of V-Space – AVSE Global and Research Director of dHealth (Switzerland), Dr. Nguyen Viet Anh – Director of Culture & Tourism Network – AVSE Global; leader representatives of the UD’s functional departments, institutes, centers: Office of Administrative Affairs, Department of Academic Affairs and Educational Quality Assurance, Department of Science and International Cooperation, Department of Personnel Management, Department of Planning and Financial Affairs, Department of Student Affairs, Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Center for Learning Information Resource and Communication; leader representatives of Board of Rectors and international office of the UD’s member universities: University of Economics, Vietnam – Korea University of Information and Communication Technology.

Overview of the meeting.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu respectfully welcomed Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong and AVSE Global’s delegation to visit and sign cooperation agreement with the UD. The UD’s President briefly introduced about the hightlights of the UD to the delegation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu discussed and proposed to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong and his colleagues of AVSE Global some key directions for cooperation such as:

(1) The two sides coordinate to organize international events and conferences which contribute to the policy planning and socio-economic development of the Central-Highlands region and the whole country. At the moment, Da Nang city is a “city of events” which is suitable with the potentials and strengths of AVSE Global. The UD is also a prestigious training and scientific research center.

(2) Coordinate in certificate training and transfer programs (2+2, 3+1) such as the cooperation programs with the US partners in training and granting Semiconductor Circuit Design certificate to students of University of Science and Technology – UD.

(3) Implement student exchanges, create more opportunities for the UD’s students to intern, experience, broaden their knowledge and vision abroad.

(4) AVSE Global introduces and connects the UD with a number of Vietnamese scientists abroad who have the desire, conditions and enthusiasm to contribute to the country.

Talking with the leaders of the UD, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong – Chairman of AVSE Global, expressed his joy and sincerely thanked the UD’s President for the warm welcome.

Chairman of AVSE Global introduced about the goals and principles of AVSE Global which was established in 2011 to gather and connect Vietnamese intellectuals around the world to contribute to promoting the sustainable development and prosperity of the country.

The delegates discussed and shared their strengths, needs and concerns to continue promoting cooperation and effectively implementing the signed MOU, focusing on the following main contents:

(1) Promoting academic, research and education cooperation;

(2) Connecting and exchanging scientists, experts, managers of innovation and sustainable development in the areas of mutual interest;

(3) Supporting visits of professors, researchers, management officials;

(4) Cooperating in developing “learner-focused” education, training and internship programs;

(5) Seeking funding for joint projects;

(6) Coordinating the organization of conferences and seminars;

(7) Exchanging educational and research publications and materials.

On the same afternoon, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong had an exchange session with staff, lecturers and students of the UD on current inspiring topics such as: knowledge economy, sustainable education and experience in attracting international lecturers and students; success stories and cooperation of Vietnamese people around the world.

With the new landmark of working and cooperating with Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong and AVSE Global, the UD continues to clearly affirm its prestige and international position, being the “destination” for leading scientists and intellectuals in the process of integration and cooperation.
