President of the University of Danang received the Mayor of Niihama city (Japan)

On 1st August, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu – President of the University of Danang (UD), chaired a meeting with the delegation from Niihama city, Ehime prefecture (Japan) led by Mr. Ishikawa Katsuyuki – Mayor.
Also attending were leader representatives of Niihama city’s management units; leader representatives of the UD’s functional departments: Office of Administrative Affairs, Department of Science and International Cooperation, Department of Student Affairs, Japan Center, Center for Learning Information Resource and Communication.

Overview of the meeting.
At the reception, President Nguyen Ngoc Vu welcomed the Mayor and his delegation, introduced about the UD to the Japanese partner.
The UD’s President exchanged and suggested some cooperation orientations with Niihama as follows:
(1) The city government supports the UD to connect with Niihama-based businesses as well as the Ehime University;
(2) Niihama city administration creates more opportunities for the UD’s students to practice, visit and experience at businesses in Niihama, Ehime prefecture;
(3) The UD wishes to visit Niihama city, Ehime University to explore cooperation opportunities for sustainable development.

For his part, Mayor of Niihama Ishikawa Katsuyuki thanked the UD’s President for the warm welcome. The mayor introduced briefly about Niihama city, Ehime prefecture which has Sumitomo Corporation – a big company of Japan that is operating in many fields with large human resources.
There are currently 3 engineers from University of Science and Technology – UD, 1 engineer from University of Technology and Education – UD, 1 graduate from University of Foreign Language Studies – UD who are working in Niihama.
Appreciating the role and prestige of the UD, Mayor Ishikawa Katsuyuki expressed the hope that Niihama city will receive more graduates from the UD, thereby not only contributing to career development of these people but also to the development of Niihama.
