Representative leaders of the UD extend congratulations on 50th National Day of Laos

On the morning of November 25, 2025, to mark the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (December 2, 1975 – December 2, 2025), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Bac, Vice President of the University of Danang (UD), together with representatives from UD’s functional departments extended congratulations to the Consulate General of the Lao PDR in Danang. The delegation was received by Consul General Souphanh Hadaoheuang.

Also in attendance were Deputy Consul General Phousavang Phommachack and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khanthaly Khamphilavong, First Secretary in charge of Education and Culture at the Lao Consulate General in Danang.

On behalf of UD’s leadership, Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Bac conveyed his warmest congratulations to Consul General Souphanh Hadaoheuang and to all leaders, officials, and staff of the Consulate General of the Lao PDR in Danang on the occasion of the 50th National Day of the Lao PDR and the 105th birth anniversary of President Kaysone Phomvihane.

Vice President Le Thanh Bac expressed his appreciation for the close guidance, coordination, and valuable support from the Lao Consulate General in Danang, especially in educational cooperation, training activities, and the management of Lao international students studying and living at UD.

With an annual cohort of around 500 Lao students across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, alongside Vietnamese language training and academic exchanges, UD’s leadership expressed the hope for continued close cooperation with the Consulate General of the Lao PDR in Danang to jointly create favorable conditions for Lao students - expanding opportunities for study and career development so that, upon graduation, they may contribute to the development of their homeland.

During the reception, Consul General Souphanh Hadaoheuang expressed his pleasure in welcoming UD’s leaders and thanked them for their congratulations on this significant national occasion, noting the family-like warmth of the relationship. He affirmed that the visit meaningfully contributes to Vietnam - Laos educational cooperation and to nurturing the great friendship and special solidarity between the two countries, particularly in developing high-quality human resources.

Sharing notable socio - economic, cultural, and educational achievements of Laos in recent years, representatives of the Lao Consulate General commended UD’s reputation, academic standing, and experience in educating Lao students. They expressed the desire to further deepen cooperation and facilitate opportunities for Lao students to study and conduct research at UD’s member universities and units.

Consul General Souphanh Hadaoheuang also extended his congratulations to the UD on being selected as one of four universities to receive prioritized. investment as a model for Vietnamese higher education.

In an atmosphere of sincerity and friendship, leaders from both sides reaffirmed their commitment to advancing multifaceted cooperation - from human resource development to scientific research and international collaboration - while strengthening cultural and language exchanges and serving as a bridge for UD to expand partnerships with universities, localities, and businesses in Laos.
