On March 27, Software Development Center-The University of Danang (SDC) in collaboration with AGS Technologies Institute (under Sao Thang Tam Vietnam Joint Stock Company) held a workshop on "Application of drone ”and opened the Drone Academy to train human resources to control the drone in the central region.

Attending the event were Assoc.Prof. Dr. Ngo Van Duong - Vice President of UD, representatives of leaders of DJI Corporation, AGS Technologies Institute, Office, functional departments, SDC, a large number of partners, enterprises and students.

At the workshop, SDC experts and partners introduced outstanding models and results in the digital transformation process focusing on the areas of infrastructure development of "smart city", “virtual” reality travel with application of Drone, Map4D, BIM, IoT, VR360 for staff, students and enterprises to attend.

In particular, the program introduced and demonstrated for the first time the "Application of drone" which brought the excitement and interest of businesses and young people.

According to Dr. Trinh Cong Duy-Director of SDC, unmanned aircraft systems (also known as “drones”) are widely used in many fields such as: spraying plant protection products, sowing seeds over a large area of land;

Monitoring and analyzing the level of environmental pollution in remote seas or surveying, mapping wastewater to treat and prevent pollution (thanks to the dual camera system) in the field of environmental protection;

Recording from an altitude or a distance of tens of kilometers can still collect data to make 2D, 3D maps to recreate the landscape of historical sites, works, cultural landmarks;

Checking the grid system and solar cells, monitoring the operation of big construction works (bridges, roads, high-rise buildings, etc.) in urban areas;

Unmanned aircraft systems are also used in natural disasters, flood relief and rescue, landslides such as in Rao Trang (Thua Thien Hue) or Tra Leng (Quang Nam)...

On this occasion, SDC signed a cooperation agreement with AGS Technologies Insitute officially to open the Drone Academy as the first unit in Vietnam to train human resources to control unmanned aircraft systems and apply virtual reality technology VR - VR360 right at UD and the Central region.

Immediately after the workshop, many young people, students and businesses were excited to experience the drone demonstration, discover advanced features and technology in the application activities of applying science and technology to solve urgent practical needs.

This meaningful event not only started to promote pioneering research and application of drone, training human resources for digital transformation application of Drone Academy in the Central region, but also brought many developments, expectations and breakthroughs in innovation and implementation of the national digital transformation process; contributed to improving prestige, academic performance of SDC in particular and UD in general.
