Recently, students of University of Science and Technology-The University of Danang (UD) won the Best Project Presentation prize at the eProjects-2020 Innovation Showcase with the project "Smart Water Trash". This was the final event of the contest gathering 06 excellent teams from the following universities: University of Technology - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, University of Science and Technology - UD, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, Lac Hong University, Dong Nai University.

At the Final Round of the contest, teams demonstrated their industry-link prototypes, thereby offering unique ideas and solutions to solve challenges on sustainable development, recycling and management for the warehouse of Dow Vietnam Group. The project "Smart Water Trash” of the student team of University of Science and Technology - UD won the best project presentation prize with high appreciation from the judges and experts of Dow Vietnam.

The project had come up with a solution to pick up plastic waste, automatically check water quality and save fuel. This was a product of scientific and technological research, integrated creation, interdisciplinary work (mechanics, automation control, information technology) with the participation of 04 students including Le Truong Lam, Truong Le Loi (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering), Trinh Thanh Phu (Faculty of Information Technology) and Nguyen Hung Thinh (Faculty of Electrical Engineering) under the mentor of PhD. Nguyen Le Hoa, PhD. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu - Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology (FAST) - University of Science and Technology - UD.

First Prize – Best project presentation, project defending

This is a program under Project BUILD-IT that promotes cooperation between universities and businesses through innovation and technology, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the STEM program organized by Dow Vietnam. According to PhD. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu - the instructor, accompanying with the group shared that through her e-Project, students develop skills in engineering design, project management, and communication, collaboration and teamwork in a professional direction so that students are well equipped with the skills they need to succeed in advanced engineering and technology.

Project "Versatile life jackets for fishermen" won the First Prize of EPICS 2020

In recent years, the student teams of University of Science and Technology - UD have achieved many excellent results in the "playgrounds" of national and international technology innovation and application such as: 03 consecutive years of First Prize in EPICS Contest of Technical Project for the Community (2018, 2019, 2020); Second Prize in MEP-2019 Contest, First Prize in MEP-2020 Contest. The technology projects and products of the students of the university have left a good impression, gained highly appreciated by experts and enterprises and have deployed effective and useful applications associated with practical needs such as: "Guide sticks for the blind", "Delta Robot", "Slippers for the blind", "Food for people with diabetes", "Versatile life jackets for fishermen", etc.
