On the morning of March 19, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - President of the University of Danang (UD) met and worked with Honorary Professor Erich Lejeune - Chairman of Heart for Heart Foundation for Life Organization, Federal Republic of Germany.

Attending the meeting were Honorary Doctor Irene Lejeune - Co-chair of the Heart for Heart Foundation for Life Organization; Dr. Med. Le Viet Nho - Rector of UD- School of Medicine and Pharmacy (UD-SMP); representatives from the Administrative Affairs Office and UD’s relevant departments (Human Resources, Science and International Cooperation) and UD-SMP.

Regarding UD-SMP, with the valuable support of Honorary Professor Erich Lejeune and Honorary Doctor Irene Lejeune, UD-SMP’s lecturers and students were provided with better infrastructure, and equipment, and were inspired and motivated to teach and study well to become excellent doctors, contributing to the protection and healthcare of the people in the Central region, which still faces many difficulties, and the whole country in general. Regarding UD, Heart for Heart sponsored the university to organize the International Conference on Sustainable University Development last November effectively facilitating professional networking.

Professor Erich Lejeune emotionally expressed his pleasure when returning to visit UD with Honorary Doctor Irene Lejeune, reuniting with his dear friends at UD which he always considers as his second family. With each visit to UD, Honorary Erich Lejeune shared warm feelings as the relationship between the two parties continued to be deepened and improved.

Honorary Professor Erich Lejeune stated that with his mission as an ambassador and Honorary Professor of UD, he has always actively promoted and spread to enhance the image and international reputation of UD; and hoped that UD continue to be a top destination in the higher education system of Vietnam, attracting many students and international students to study and research.

Honorary Professor Erich Lejeune and Honorary Doctor Irene Lejeune will continue to accompany, support, and motivate lecturers and students of UD in general and UD-SMP in particular in their education and healthcare careers.

On the same afternoon, the leadership of Heart for Heart Foundation for Life Organization also visited UD-SMP at the UD Urban Area (Hoa Quy - Dien Ngoc); meeting and interacting with UD-SMP faculty and students.
