The University of Da Nang expands cooperation network in education and research in Romania

Recently (from June 9-13, 2025), a delegation from The University of Da Nang (UD), led by Professor Dr. Le Quang Son, Vice President of UD, engaged in working sessions and exchanges to expand the collaboration network with leading universities in Romania, focusing on education and research.

At Babeș-Bolyai University, the delegation from UD held meetings with the university's leadership and professors, including: Prof. Dr. Adrian Petrusel - Rector; Prof. Dr. Dan Lazăr - Vice-Rector; Prof. Dr. Călin Hințea - Dean of the Faculty of Political, Administrative and Communication Sciences (FSPAC); Prof. Dr. Roger Hamlin - Associate Dean for International Development, FSPAC. This also included a meeting with Prof. Dr. Nicolae Adrian Opre - Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Education, to discuss the needs and potential for cooperation in related fields.

The parties highly appreciated the reputation and academic standing of UD and its member universities. They agreed in principle to strengthen cooperative connections, focusing on areas where each side has strengths and needs.

These include: coordinating doctoral training under Project 89 (of the Vietnamese Government), exchanging experts, inviting reputable scientists to participate and speak at international conferences, cooperatingg on faculty and student exchange programs, as well as internship, summer school, and field trip programs.

The partner stated they would send professors to attend and present scientific reports at an upcoming international conference, expected to be held at University of Economics - UD this year.

Babeș-Bolyai University has been a reliable and committed partner of UD over the past years. Notably, more than 15 staff and lecturers from UD have participated in the Erasmus+ exchange program at Babeș-Bolyai University, and UD has welcomed approximately 20 international lecturers to teach and collaborate on research.

At the National University of Science and Technology in Bucharest, Prof. Dr. Lê Quang Sơn discussed and proposed to Prof. Dr. Tudor PrisecuraChairman of the University Council, the promotion of cooperation in training and scientific research. This focused particularly on the need to send reputable scientists and lecturers to co-supervise students and postgraduate students.

The two sides acknowledged the proposals to collaborate on identifying and applying for international projects to leverage their potential and strengths, especially given the similarities in their training and research fields.

On this occasion, representatives of the UD leadership also proactively worked with local authorities, discussing the needs and desires to promote cooperation in the process of international integration with Prof. Dr. Emil Boc, Mayor of Cluj-Napoca.

Leaders from both sides expressed their desire to strengthen cooperative ties and friendly people-to-people exchanges, creating more opportunities for faculty and students from universities on both sides to exchange, study, and gain experience in Vietnam as well as Romania.
