On the morning of November 25^th, 2021, Dr. Phan Minh Duc-Chairman of the University of Danang’s Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of the University of Danang (UD) and leaders of the UD's International Cooperation Department had an online meeting with leaders of Canadian universities within the framework of the Education Fair “Universities Canada's Digital Mission to Vietnam” organized by the Canadian Embassy.

Attending the meeting were Dr. Craig Kuziemsky, Associate Vice-President cum Research and Interim Dean, School of Business, MacEwan University (MEU); Ms. Erin Wight - Director, MacEwan International, Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant, MEU and Mr. Haochen Li – Manager, Global Partner, Relations, The University of British Columbia (UBC).

At the meeting, Vice President Le Quang Son introduced briefly the organization structure as well as outstanding achievements of UD - a national key university in Vietnam.

Vice President Le Quang Son also shared that UD currently has a long-lasting cooperation relationship with many prestigious educational and scientific institutions in the world, including Canadian universities such as University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières, University of Toronto, Royal Roads University, University of Calgary, World University Service of Canada (WUSC)…

UD has been joining in many international projects such as  USAID COMET, ERAMUS KA1, HUB4GROWTH, HR4ASIA, V2WORK... to connect and promote cooperation in education, training, science and technology and cultural exchange.

At the meeting, UD’s leaders had proposed several suggestions to establish and develop the relationship with ME & UBC, detail is as follows:

• Develop international training programs in fields of mutual interests;
• Co-participate in joint research projects;
• Co-organize scientific conferences and seminars;
• Exchange of lecturers and students, in which UD hopes to invite prestigious Canadian scientists, scholars, and experts to deploy co-teaching and co-research.

UBC is located in Vancouver, Canada

The two sides discussed and shared common interests, agreed to promote the cooperation relationship in many fields of training and scientific research, as well as shared innovative experiences on university governance in the context of globalization. The two sides agreed to discuss and deploy the MoU signing ceremony in the upcoming time.
