The University of Danang hosted the Preliminary round of the 2023 National Science and Technology Award for students

On August 26, the University of Danang (UD) in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) hosted the Preliminary round of the 2023 National Science and Technology Award for students of higher educational institutions nationwide.

Attending the program were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thanh Binh – Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Environment – MOET, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Bac – Vice President of the UD, leader representatives of the Department of Science, Technology and Environment – UD, leader representatives of the UD’s member universities and affiliated units.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the preliminary round, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Bac respectfully welcomed the delegates, scientists, officials and lecturers attending the program, at the same time expressed his thanks to the MOET’s leaders for choosing the UD as the host of this important and prestigious, traditional award.

With the mission of a key regional university, the UD always focuses on the connection between training – education and scientific research, between research and application, contributing to solving urgent practical problems and socio – economic development of the localities, businesses and societies.

Scientific research and innovation activities among the UD’s students always receive attention and support from the university. The UD’s students achieved several prestigious awards in scientific research and innovation.

These activities have the companionship of agencies, organizations and businesses, therefore they are organized on a large scale with many valuable prizes.

There are more and more topics, projects, innovative scientific products and startups of the UD’s students that have won high regional, national and international awards (in 2022-2023 school year, there were 1 international prize, 55 national and ministerial-level prizes, 24 provincial and city-level prizes).

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thanh Binh, the National Science and Technology Award for students is a prestigious award to contribute to improving quality of training and scientific research, developing mindset, self-study capacity, self-research of students.

This year’s award attracted 481 topics from students/groups of students from 103 universities nationwide.
