The University of Danang organized "The 2nd Science and Technology Festival for Students in 2020" - Awarded and launched the "Scientific Research Students Award"

On the morning of November 25, The University of Danang (UD) solemnly held the Opening Ceremony "The 2nd Science and Technology Festival for UD’s students in 2020". The theme of this year's Festival was: "Young Creativity" with the companionship of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang city, Viettel IDC and technology enterprises.

On this occasion, UD has awarded the "Scientific Research Students Award for the academic year 2019-2020" to students and groups of students with excellent achievements, selected by the Scientific Council at all levels, and officially distributed "Scientific Research Students Award for the academic year 2020-2021"

Attending the event were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - Member of the city party committee, President of UD; Mr. Nguyen Manh Dung – Member of the city party committee, Secretary of the Youth Union, Chairman of Danang Youth Union; representatives of the departments and branches of Da Nang city: Department of Science and Technology, Department of Education and Training, Union of Science and Technology Associations, Management Board of High-Tech Park, representatives of Viettel IDC and businesses partners.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu - Member of the city party committee, President of UD - awarded the First Prize "Scientific Research  Students Award for the academic year 2019-2020" to the group of students (Vo Quoc Huy, Ngo Hong Thinh), Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Science and Technology - UD with the topic: "Designing and manufacturing coolers for solar panels to improve the photovoltaic conversion efficiency of solar panels". The award included a Certificate of Merit from the President of UD and a bonus of 20 million VND.

Two Second Prizes belonged to the group of students from the International Business Faculty, the University of Economics - UD and the group of students from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics, University of Technology and Education – UD were honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the President of UD and the bonus of 15 million VND/ prize.

03 Third Prizes belonged to the groups of students from University of Science and Education, University of Foreign Languages and Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy - UD were honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the President of UD and the bonus of 08 million VND/ prize.

The representative of Viettel IDC, a companion unit, also awarded an amount of 25 million VND to support groups of students who won the award.

This really showed the deep concern of UD's leaders and businesses for students, thereby adding motivation and passion for scientific research and creativity.

The Organization Committee also officially launched a large number of students to respond to the "Scientific Research Students Award of UD in the academic year 2020-2021" with many prestigious and high-value awards, which contributed to the movement of scientific research by students in order to increasingly developing deeply and effectively.

UD has rewarded and promptly encouraged the groups of students with useful scientific products and applications to serve the community of COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control in recent time.

In the presence of the President of UD, representatives of UD and Viettel IDC signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in science and technology activities, innovation, and support for students in learning and scientific research.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quang Son - Vice President of UD emphasized the meaning and role of promoting and nurturing the movement of young scientific research and creativity of students in improving the quality of training, associated with application, transfer, followed up with practical needs in order to serve the community.

On this occasion, UD's leaders would like to thank the leaders of the Departments, branches, associations of Da Nang city and localities for their support; the companionship of businesses and partners, especially the enthusiastic guidance of lecturers and scientists of UD’s member universities and affiliated units, thereby promoting further diffusion, strongly developing the movement; fostering the spirit of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship for students.

This year's festival was held for the second time, increasingly in scale and quality with the participation of many exhibitors to introduce products, scientific research and creativity of typical young students of UD.

These were products and works that had won awards and outstanding achievements in regional, national, international competitions and were developed for practical application and transfer.

nurtures dreams and ambitions for students

Within the framework of the festival, prestigious speakers and experts also came to share with UD with many valuable knowledge and experiences about innovation and start-ups in the digital economy.
