The University of Danang: Promoting applied research to contribute to the implementation of the "Smart" City Strategy, an environmental city

04/12/2020

Recently, University of Technology and Education (UTE) - The University of Danang (UD) has been accepted and announced the results of research on the state-level key topic "Researching and developing some services for assistance and tourist management to develop e-Government and smart city-oriented sustainable tourism”.

Report, acceptance on the state-level key topic

The topic by this research team of UTE-UD which Dr. Tran Hoang Vu who was the manager, was made according to "order" from Da Nang city from October 2017, completed in April 2020.

Application of micro-service technology on STSC platform, thereby integrating services to meet the needs of all three groups of subjects: tourists, tourism service providers and state management agencies.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Cao Tho – Rector of

University of Technology and Education, the host institution presided over the speech

at the reporting session and acceptance of the topic

The research results have been experimented at a number of tourist destinations in Da Nang such as museums: Fine Arts, Cham Sculpture and Da Nang Museum, Marble Mountains, contributing to supporting the sustainable tourism development firmly in line with the "smart city" orientation.

Over nearly 3 years of implementing the topic, the research team has proposed products (hardware) such as: "smart" travel card (Da Nang City pass); Kiosks system promoting multimedia, multi-language tourism; access control system; POS device for charging at tourist sites, etc.

"Danang Department of Tourism will accompany and coordinate with UTE-UD to soon apply research results to meet practical needs in the coming time", Deputy Director of Danang Tourism Department Tan Van Vuong shared.

Scientists, experts make comments on the topic

Previously, 02 topics of UD scientists were selected by the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED) to be included in the List of applied research projects funded in 2020.

The topic "Module of electricity production to connect to the grid with small capacity from rural domestic and production waste" by Prof.Dr.Sc. Bui Van Ga, who was the manager. The research focused on 01 grid-connected power generation module with small and flexible capacity, running on biogas and syngas produced from waste in rural areas.

The research results will contribute to solving the urgent problem oft domestic and production waste treatment in accordance with the strategy of building an "environmental city", reducing emissions of gases causing "greenhouse effect".

The project "Development of a high reliability gigabit data transmission system that intelligently combines laser and radio waves for areas with complex terrain and extreme weather" by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Tan Hung, Advanced Institute for Science and Technology-UD, who was the manager.

The research project developed the highly reliable Gb/s data transmission system based on the "smart" combination between laser and radio waves for areas with complex terrain and extreme weather.

The authors of UD expressed their belief that this "breakthrough" technology would change the future of FSO Technology, thereby providing applications and efficiency suitable for climatic and weather conditions of the central region which is always adversely affected, as well as the reality in Vietnam.
